I think it's the data cable (ribbon cable). Only way to be sure is to change it.

well, saying way differs than doing it, its soo hard to find any changing parts here (in palestine), imagin that changing the laser lens costed me 100 dollar, cos i had to travel and buy it from abroad, lol.

i try to fix my own problems out of scratches, is there some way to make sure of the ribbon cable rather than getting a new one? ehm

You may be able to find one cheap on ebay, amazon, or some other online site. I seen some on ebay for like $4, but I'm in the U.S.

its hard to deal with ebay here from palestine.

things way differ than it in the us, alot of restrictions surround us.

anyways i have two questions, i have a headache cant search their answer atm, i would be thankful if u answere them to me.
1) is the ribbon cable of the ps3 slim same as that of the ps3 fat?
2) it is possible ot downgrade ps3's to a firmware lower than that which it came with?

edit; found the asnwer for the first question which is "the ribbon cables are not the same"
second question's answer i think i might read it that its not possible but iam not sure.

No, it's not possible. You can check the lowest firmware with the minimum firmware checker.

see how it came? now i remembered that what happened to my console came after the 3.6 firmware upgrade, i bought it and it was recently updated to 3.6 (sadly i didnt know that except after buying it), and i started to play on it on this firmware, and bang! blueray drive problem, and i had to change the lens, and bang! again.

ps. the one i bought it from had an xbox, lol and wasnt playing on the ps3
