JUI - if you are still having the not original PS3 problem you have the update your E3 firmware with old firmware "2011.10.28 update". Any other firmware stops you from moviing you E3 Flasher to other PS3s. I had the same problem and this fixed it. once you get it to work you can update the firmware on you E3 to the latest.

I'm going to give up. I've tried everything ....
@ Tinman1. The 10.28.2011 update.bin give me error in the e3 flasher log: "metldr not supported" ... @ lopiejaldflad25. I tried a 100 times ... Every time I get an error: if the flasher is update.bin of 11.22.2011 - error code 1100010 (not original PS3) if the flasher is update.bin of 10.28.2011 - error code 1100100 (metldr not supported) Also, when using Mod BIOS supplied by Pro.Hack and running on the console as described (no HDD or video / audio Activity) each time when a file is added e3_dowgnrade.bin I have the same problem (no matter if downgrade file is with my BIOS or this Mod by Pro.Hack). My bios is 100% OK because before bricked I dumped and then programmed the PS3 and everything worked. Maybe 3e_downgrade.bin file version should be different (I use 1.2 but I heard that there are other ...) |

What model # is your ps3? Did you check the lowest firmware with minimum firmware checker? I would think you should be able to restore your backup even if you bricked because the machine could not got to 3.55. After you use the samsung 10.28.2011 update, and get all leds light up. Do not shut off, press reset. Put Pro.Hacks's custom bios on sd and flash with 1 up, rest down. edit - push reset before and after moving a switch, very important!!! Now shut off, put all switches down and take out sd card. Turn on ps3, should stay on with no video, no hdd activity. Leave on for next step. Format sd card in pc. Then put your good working bios backup on it. Remove from pc with safely remove hardware, and put into e3. (ps3 still on!) Now press reset, flip 1st switch up, press reset again. Wait for alternating leds and press start. Wait for each led to light up. when leds start alternate flash, shut off ps3 with switch (or pull the plug) not button. Now put all switches down and 6 up, and turn on ps3. If all went well you will boot into 4.0 If you did, run the minimum firmware checker tool and see if you can go to 3.55. I hope this helps. And don't give up. If you have a good working bios backup, you should be able to fix it. If you want to give up after this I'll buy your console and good bios backup from you.

@ playerkp420
My PS3 version is SLIM CECH 2504A. I bought it in December 2010 so there should be no problem in 3.55. Besides, before bricked I was able to downgrade from 4.00 -> 3.55 and when I run PS3 in Service Mode I checked the versions and it was 3.55. Then, unfortunately, I something messed up with files on the USB stick and then PS3 got bricked. As for your advice, all worked until the sentence "If all went well you will boot into 4.0". In fact, I can start the console (with my BIOS) and 6th switch UP (rest is down) but still no HD/USB activities... When I upload e3_downgrade.bin to SD card, hit reset and start - then I get the same error 11000100. I even tried to patch my BIOS according to this guide (http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=30815) and upload it but after that the console will not start at all ... |

Jui - I can send you the file that worked for me. I got the same msg before I flashed the E3 with the older version and my E3 is limited version.
Don't give up we have to get an answer. I did buy another PS3 off cowbom for $180 and swapped my E3 between them and it worked. |

Ok here is the link to the file http://www.mediafire.com/?oh3yt77ffw7o3ve (This is the original E3 Flasher Firmware) it allows the E3 Flasher to be moved (it's firmware 2011.10.28 update)
Install it on your TF card. Set switches 1 and 2 down Set switches 3, 4, 5, and 6 up. Power on the PS3 and the E3 with upgrade with the new firmware. All the LEDs should light showing you flashed or E3 press the reset button. Done |

What do you mean you uploaded to PS3 - and everything worked? Basically, your bios backup is only used when you need to recover from brick. That is why it is so important to make multiple backups and check and double check that they are good. I hate to say it, but I think you have a bad bios dump.
