Worn out screws when opening PS3
I opened up pretty much all my ps3 I was right at the stage when taking the last piece of metal casing of the motherboard. The clamps which are on the heat sink (black screws) are not coming out they are worn out I think. I used the right screwdriver but they are not coming out. Is there any way I could take these out all shall I just sell the parts that are working in the ps3? BTW it is impossible to take the motherboard out without screwing the screws out.

if you indeed did use the correct driver then they would have come out fine.
you can drill them out / use a bigger bit with more pressure / try pliers / any other ghetto mod you can think of

1. i would use the correct driver.
2. if some "insert name here" used the wrong one and buggered the screws i would do whatever it took. 3. if it was me who buggered the screws i would seriously question my capability on fixing it if/when i got them out. 4. i dont like chocolate so no

you need to apply a fair bit of weight when unscrewing as they are on tight, i dont know hot those screws get in operation.

If you cant get them out using a driver/vice grips/pliers/etc. then drill them out and then re-tap new threads in the holes. I'd recommend a small die grinder or dremel for drilling, and manually tap the holes using a tap handle and tap. Tap the holes to one size bigger than the drill bit you use to drill out the existing screws.
