Hey Guys,

Please don`t rip me appart here, but i have some questions.

I have just got an Phat 40 gig PS3 (my first one)
It is running on 4.0 at the moment and after my researches i could find out that (at this time) it can not be jailbroken (korrekt?!).

Korrekt me if i am wrong but aren`t the old Phat PS3 hackable due to the finding off the "Master-Key" which was documented in the CCC video back in 2009.

Your ps3 can be jailbroken. But the firmware can not. You need to downgrade your firmware from 4.00 to 3.55 with a hardware flasher(e3 flasher or progskeet).

Would you suggest to downgrade or wait for the Homebrewenabler/Jailbreak for the 4.0/4.1 ?

Kakarotos homebrew enabler will not have peek&poke(that's required to run backup managers like mm and to play your backed up games). There is no release date to the cfw. It's up to you whether you want to wait or not... A hardware flasher will allow you to to run the latest firmware(4.1) to enjoy psn and new games. And it'll allow you to downgrade to 3.55 to have all the goodies

In my opinion, I'll go with the hardware flasher

ALrighty then, i have ordered the E3 Flasher Limited Edition...

Been watching installation videos alll morning. But can`t seem to find a proper Downgrade tutorial.

I have been going thru a few threads but it gives me more questions.

In one tut it says i need an ps3 jailbreak dongle for downgrade... is that correct?

I think u can't jailbreak it at the moment neither downgrade it lower than the factory firmware which the PS3 came with, using E3 flasher could break u'r PS3.
E3 flasher works in some compatible models and u can downgrade if u'r PS3 came with factory 3.55 or less firmware.

erm he got a FAT ps3 which factory firmware is way below 3.55 !!! so he will be able to downgrade . maybe do your own reasearch before u give out wrong information

Who are u any way؟ are u his Lawyer?
Let him confirm that PS3 came with 3.55 or less factor firmware because the new models came with higher factory firmware.

o my god are u a dumbass . look do you research , let me make this simple for you to understand . he has got a FAT PS3 . all FAT PS3 can be downgrade .
all FAT PS3 factory fw is lower than 3.15 .
which means he can downgarde also the only PS3 that came with a firmware higher than a 3.55 is some slim ps3 .

do u understand now or do u want me to draw u some pictures too lol
