yeah im gonna wait a little while see how they go (plus i need new PC parts)
but im definitely getting one from the US there about 100 bucks more over here which is a complete rip and im not really to fussed about 3g

Not a 'first impression' but Didn't like the psp, highly doubt the Vita will impress me. Until i see and use a vita i won't bother.

No, $ony didn't make it for phone use, 3G is so you can do gaming on PSN/SEN everywhere

If I would buy a Vita (and I don't for the near future) I would (wifi) tether it with my Android 3G phone
GPS is only on the 3G Vita, but that is also no problem with a decent smartphone...
