How do you remove the PS3's 40gb (CECHG03) battery?

What battery are you referring to? PS3's take AC power (obviously), so...?

just pull it off. there should be a 2 pin connector

Just remember to put it back before you assemble your ps3! I didnt remember so now it asks for the date at eac boot :d and im too lazy to open it all thee way again!

Just like a PC motherboard, the PS3 also has a battery (CR2032-LC1) to power a backup clock etc.
