Question

[QUOTE=Pro.Hack;324348]
Now if you have ylod well not sure if it's worth trying to unbrick but I have tried unbrick a friends ps3 with no dump backup and just used my own dump and use my guide i put together and worked fine. So try it if you want

So you are saying that you successfully unbricked a ps3 with no original backup and used only your modified dump? Curious how this would work, I understand you can only use your own backups to unbrick.

That is correct, how it works is that flashing my mod bios does not fix your ps3 but in fact sets it up where you able to redo the installation of 3.55 CFW thus results of an unbrick.

The issue is that the E3 flasher has protocols that it follows and at time won't allow you to fix your own ps3 by just having a correct bios.
Though the Bios is also part HDD and Motherboard.

it's 50/50

you can't use another dump if there's no backup
if the per console data is gone the result is a dead ps3
no backups of other console's will work ever

some guy made a dump for someone with missing metldr
of course that failed miserable because that part is per console

any of the following data missing is = a dead ps3
Code:
asecure_loader = metldr
eEID
cISD
cCSD
cvtrm
bootldr
only the pf(per firmware of same version) data can be exchanged from one to another dump
like ros1 and ros0 ,trvk_prg0, trvk_prg1, trvk_pkg0, trvk_pkg1

so it's true he could have fixed it but only if it was PF data that was missing or corrupt

hope this clears it a bit up for you

ok this is just bull**** because no other person can use your ps3 backup
it would not have the per console data

protocols wtf are you talking about it's a ****ing flasher with standards that are there for 40 years now

you can ALWAYS recover with your own 100% backup with any flasher that supports you chip

you sir lost all your credibility with this last post of yours

explain exactly what u have modded in ur file
all i see is a copy of ur own console backup
also i think u should make it more clearer that this file will not fix consoles
u are using it to reset sycon back to a higher version than 3.55 from what i can make out.
therefore explain what exactly u have modified.

all i see is the ros/rvk areas from 3.56 and 3.73 meaning the console it came off was on 3.56 and was then updated to 3.73

the way it was worded sounded like he had fixed a console with just his backup. That's why I needed a clarification. Thanks for the info Jhax

Clearly you miss understand my motives, for one I can care less if I get credit or not anymore as even the people I try to help wants to jump down my throat as your are as well.

and about the protocols I was referring too was a terminology on how the ps3 and e3 flasher are built to do and cannot do. Even if you have a healthy dump from your ps3 re-flashing it doesn't always un-brick ps3.

This entire guide was very clear, what I was saying on how my mod bios doesn't fix your ps3, I was stating that by it self it cannot fix your bricked ps3
OBVIOUSLY!

Second the mod bios was mine and modified to make this work and it was on 3.73. I made it to that your able to use it on any ps3 that is all.

I think the language barrier is stopping us from communicating freely.

I thought he said he fixed a ps3 with no working backup and just his backup.
But I kinda figured out what he meant after his next post.

Well it all depends on how you bricked your PS3.

I am not going to tell you what I did to it per-say but I will tell you that in order to install downgrade.bin successfully you would need to have a good bios flash but most people are stuck with that and cannot continue.

My guide here explains how you can install a bios successfully to continue to flash Downgrade.bin so you can insert JB dongle and enter Factory Service mode so you can install any FW.
