i have signed up at the coldboot site but i just gotta work out how to make them and things then ill try to fit them in, its a whole different ball game doing things like that but that how i first started

yeah it is different , but the way I see it (maybe because I'm not good with graphics) is its the same thing but with alpha/transparency. And with alpha I figure you have more to work with now, more possible looks/designs, I can't wait to see what you and other people good with graphics will come up with.

well you can do everything manually, but Ive made a easy to use program for people to make custom coldboots. What you work in is a DDS file that is 1920x1080 so lost of room for you to play with .

Using JPEG is also apparently possible but I have not implemented that, as DDS is much better.
