Well, Sony did a good move. The only part of the PS3 that remained secure back then was the bootloader and the lv0. So, they encapsulated all the loader in the lv0. That way we are not able to modify them. We can't even look at them because we still have no clue how to decrypt it.

So, pretty much Sony won that round by knock out. The only way to beat Sony would be to figure out how to decrypt the lv0, modify it, and then reencrypt it. Not an easy task at all.

There is CFW 4.1 already, however nobody knows how to execute code for this FW version yet.

In which is true, but you are not able to run newer XMB and GameOS unless you find out how to sign the SELFs. So if you just want to run linux natively you should be ready to go.

I have no need for a higher version FirmWare. TB also runs on 3.55 and if someone will find the TB payloads to work without dongle and ads them to a new 3.55 CFW I think it would be a great progress (as long as Linux will stay enabled)

I know it is no solution for people on a higher version FW, sorry... I can't change iron in gold

I don't think we will see a higher verison cfw anytime soon. Really theres no need for a higher cfw what we really need is..

1.Good/permanent solution to getting new games running on 3.55

2. An easier downgrade method for users with 3.56+ firmware

There will be a need for a new CFW ,if it happens, who knows. As your PS3s start dying you will be looking for another PS3 to jailbreak & this will get harder & harder every time. Just like a Jtag XBOX. Ask yourself do you want to buy a used PS3.? Or would you rather jailbreak a new one. Buying new + new CFW for the people who will lose there PS3 one day to YLOD ,etc .Sorry, but they will not last you all for ever

A new PS3 is the only right way to go. It will not breakdown anytime soon after you buy it. Who wants to buy something & wonder .How long will this PS3/thing last me ? For those who have 1 CFW PS3 +also use it for movies & luv it + can afford another one. I know i sure the hell would buy another PS3. I want my CFW to last me another 10+ years ..

I don't think the PS4 will be hacked if it came out. At least not for a long time. Just look at the PS3 scene now ,who will even try to crack that baby ?

Say something like this.

"My ps3 system is stuck on service mode and gives me a message saying that I need the 4.00 keys to get to xmb. Is there anyway you can tell me so that I can enjoy my ps3 again?"
