Try heat CPU and GPU with cheap //Jet_Lighter// heat for 45s to 60s heat from 3cm distance careffully it will be HoTTTSUpa...
:D This works for 100% percent if you diagnose the problem correctly

are you talking about reflpowing to fix YLOD or the problem i am having with my wirless controlelrs not working after the reflow?

The part responsible for handling wireless controllers is actually the removable pcb that sits in front of the power supply. Make sure the ribbon is properly secure, I've had cases where the owners have accidently ripped the ribbon out and broken the clip, funny enough when it happens controllers don't sync

And cutting a hole at the bottom is perfectly fine. The fat ps3 power supply is relatively efficient and don't put out much heat, just warm to touch. What you have to worry about is the underside where the rsx/cell is as that's where 95% of the heat comes from. Increase the air flow on the underside and it'll keep them fairly cool. Only thing you might have to worry about it are the ram chips on top, but they shouldn't be an issue if you've kept the thermal pads on them.

LOL. Yeah that is way too much thermal compound. And it doesn't even look like the right kind.

You should use Arctic Silver 5 and apply it like this video. This is how I do it.

tbh arctic silver 5 is good but mx-4 is better
and non conductive if it leaks out
