Man jailbroken ps3 is lovely, can play ur back ups, customize ur ps3 with themes, coldboot logos, also u can mod games and explore the file system.

Advantage of jail breaking is to be able to open your customize your ps3 to however you see fit. i.e. Whenever you install a game from psn they are listed in your xmb in order of purchase. But if your PS# is jail broken, you have the ability to change these to show up in alphabetical order. Which is really nice and makes it easier to find games when you have a huge collection of legally obtained psn games :-)
