its not even the dongle that needs to be cracked as the method they use to obtain the eboots is what really matters.
cracking the actual dongle wont remove their DRM after all

alright here is a dumb newb question from a ps3 4.10 owner.
After reading kakaroto's latest post about how a jailbreak is practically impossible at this point, seeing a 19.99 dongle that can play games sounds pretty attractive. Does having this allow me to play most of the games that are out?

What is the drawback of this vs other true blue dongles? From what I understand, the true blue dongles enable only some of the games that they release to be playable, is this correct? Then what is the idea behind this clone dongle? The majority of the posts converge on that this is very similar to the true blue dongles, so my guess is that I still won't be able to play all of the games even if I have the clone dongle..

guys i was reading this forum and couldnt help noticing everyone complains about drm dongles and how a crime it is companies asking money for them.

why do you ps3 owners want eveything free? i also own a 360 and dont care i have to pay to flash the drive and for an xkey that cost a lot more then 60$ i tell you that . as along as it adds extra options to my console

Firslty you have to be on Firmware version 3.55 to use any of these ****ing dongles, so you'd have to buy a downgrade flasher to get you there, and then buy one of these things to play the games that they decide you can have.

There are a lot of games that have not been released e.g. Batman Arkham, PES 2012 etc. If these are games you're expecting, buy them second hand. I ****ing despise the way that customers are at the mercy of some Chinese devs and that gamers have to resort to 'begging' posts (or asking the 'all-knowing-'Gary' ahem..) for new games or news while these monkeys are laughing all the way to the bank.

Because if drm dongle cracked , they will make another one v2 and you will need to pay again if you want to play new games , then someday this v2 dongle will be cracked again and they will make v3 dongle ...and etc, there is no guarantee when you buy stuff like this.
Even if dongle not cracked someday they may decide that they have enough and will stop realising patches.The main point is just the price is not right for this kind stuff

We PS3 owners don't mind paying for devices, we did pay for our consoles after all, we pay for our games and there are those of us that pay for PSN+.

Now what we do not like is paying for STOLEN code.

Now the stupid analogies regarding paying for 360 and PS3 is completely f*cking retarded.

• Anyone that pays for the DVD drive on their 360 to be flashed, needs to be taken outside and give a sever beating, i would say shot, but retards cant help being stupid, so that would be a tad severe.
• Paying for an Xkey or any RGH/Glitching devices IS NOT THE F*CKING SAME as paying for True Blue.
• This is because TB can be turned into a software method/implemented into a MFW, where as RGH or whatever for the 360 CANNOT.
• The reason i call the PS3 Scene the Retard Scene, is because of the reasons mentioned above.

Because for the 360 you are buying their work. You buy hardware that has practical uses.
For the ps3 you are buying free open source code with drm added. They don't make the ps3 any more open, instead they add a layer of drm. The hardware you buy is in no way necessary, everything can be done without the dongle. But they can't make money from software, so they bundle it with hardware.

Edit: Although paying someone to flash your drive more than once is pretty stupid. Paying for the first flash, I can understand because depending on your drive model, it may require expensive tools to dump your key, and you shouldn't pay for those tools just to use them once. But, after that first time you will have your drive key, and flashing your drive is EASY, paying for that service after that first time is stupid.
