I can attach a screenshot as well if you need. But the exact message is:

To play this BD, you must renew the encryption key.
Perform a system software update to renew the encryption key.

To be clear, the BD drive still works. In the menu you can see the disc, it does the preview icon in the menu for the disc, and knows the name of the disc, it just won't allow it to be played.

The system went partially through the 4.11 update and then hung up and could not be recovered (FW < 2.60)

Swapped 40G drive for 320G drive and system hung up on format at 99%.

Placed 40G drive back into system. System recongized it, but recognized it as a "new" drive said it had to format drive, format went to 100%, and the system came up to its original 2.30 config and still has all the saved information that was there originally (config and game saves). So, the 4.11 update failed completely.

System is now 100% operational other than BD discs will not play. I have not tried any games to see if they have any issues either.

So, at this point I have a virgin system at 2.30 that I can do whatever I want with. So, I will look at the suggestions y'all have made. Again, I want to thank you all for the suggestions.

If you are getting this message it means the decryption key on the blueray movie is too new for your firmware to handle and unfortunatly a spoof wont fix it. Even hacking the ps3 wont fix it. Updating is the only way, but if you update to 3.55, then you can only play BD's with a key that 3.55 can handle and some BD releases, say within the last 3 months or so do infact require a firmware higher than 3.55.
