Hey I would love to make one but I can't even seem to get past the main menu screen. And what does the animation files format have to be? How long is the coldboot's limit?

Hmm what seems to be the problem? The main screen should come up and you click edit. If you don't have the full version or you didn't use the /internalps argument simply browse to your Photoshop installation. Save in the same settings that are in the help menu (the question mark on bottom left of main window). After that you can preview it with the preview button which is the magnifying glass, and finally you can create by clicking the create button which is the check mark.

If you are having a different issue please explain the problem.

The final result will always be a RAF file, while editing it you will be working with either DDS files or JPEG files, my program only implements DDS editing and packing of DDS files. The total duration of an animated coldboot is about 5 seconds.

On a side note animated coldboots is not supported in PCLCv2 that is a feature planned for a later version, PCLCv2 only supports static full-screen logos. To create animated coldboots please refer to tutorials made by @Glowball1 and @corwin75 . You can also ask me for help but I learned from them so its better to learn from the masters lol.

On the front page article it states that you can use animated or static and on the second post of this thread, it states the same.

What's the difference between a animated on and a normal coldboot? Either my eyes are broken or im getting confused between 'seperate objects moving' animited or just a 'background' type thing.

I personally won't be bothering with coldboot changes, But i do admire the work and effort everyone has put in to it. Best of luck!
