I need some help with Mortal Kombat 9 update 1.0.5. I installed the patch and when starting MK, the system asks for 3.60 firmware update or later. So I installed 4.0 spoofer and now when starting MK, I get "An error occurred during the start operation (80010017)". What can I do in this case?

I think the last update you can apply on 3.55 CFW/MFW for MK9 is 1.03. Delete all updates after 1.03 and you should be okay.

Here is what you will need. 1. ps3 2. usb stick formated to fat 32 3. ps3 on fimware 3.55 or below

You need a hardware flasher(e3 flasher/progskeet/teensy) to downgrade to 3.55. Also, if your ps3 is the 3k model, your out of luck because it's not possible to downgrade... Look up on the banner where it says "PS3 SCENE STATUS:"
