Quick question, when you do say, a downgrade of 4.11 to 3.55, and have PSN content activated and working on the hard disk, does this content remain when you boot up in 3.55 the first time?

For example, a user account with act.dat and rif files you could use to backup your legally purchased PSN games with ReactPSN?
I know most of the content will not work (3.56+ keys needed for the newer games) but are the act.dat and rif files present, or does the PS3 want to format the whole hard disk drive after the downgrade?

You can install the new rogero v3 with 4.11 spoof directly, from recovery mode. Since it does not have syscon checks you do not have to qa flag first.

Well I did say in my guide there may be other ways to do this and was only sharing what worked for me.

I can not find anywhere that it says what you said on ps3devwiki. Could you post a link for me, so I can check it out.

I didn't say anything about PSN content. Not sure who you are directing your question to. There is a way to have your PSN games work on 3.55, but is not explained in this guide.

Oh, I see what your saying.

Yes it formats your drive and you should use the backup utility before downgrading.

Then restore your backup with the same utility. And I beleive all your saves and psn games will be back.

Only the backup utility does not keep your trophies.

I did not enable system update debug setting.
Here is the explanation what that setting does from ps3devwiki:

Allows you to enable or disable system update debug, which lets you to downgrade with official Sony update manager. Also allows easy firmware switching by storing a PS3UPDAT.PUP (can be renamed) in /dev_hdd0/updater/01, then another in /dev_hdd0/updater/02 etc. Then go to "System Update" > "Update via Hard Disk" and select the update to install. Information Board QA Server on/off

I take that to mean you can downgrade from the xmb with that setting enabled. But that is not how I did it. I may test this on my next ps3 I downgrade.

1. So you intstalled the toggle.qa.pkg then ran it, right?
2. Go do the button combo at network settings and the hidden menu pops up.
3. Now your console is qa flagged. Do not run the app again or you will not be qa flagged.
(at this time either continue or just leave it be. Your console is qa flagged and you can do the qa flag downgrade steps next, anytime you like.)
4. Enter recovery mode.
5. install OFW3.41 with option 6.
6. After you reboot and are on OFW3.41, you can update in xmb from usb to OFW3.55.
7. Enter recovery again and install any CFW3.55 you like. Doesn't have to be one from my pack, you can make your own, whatever.

As for the hard drive. I would start the whole process with the hard drive you are going to use in the e3sata station. Or if you want to upgrade your hdd to a larger one later, you would follow the process of upgrading your hdd. backup utility, etc.

I think that is what you mean. You don't mean for dual boot, right? That is a different guide and some soldering is required.

Yeah install the ofw3.41. It says in needs 3.55 or later but the Qa flag let's it install lower.

playerkp420 when i navigat throw the system update menu i had seen this
1- updat via internet
2-updat via storage media
3- updatvia hard disk
4- delet updat data on hard disk

Install OFW3.55 from the system update on the xmb via usb.

Then use recovery menu to install any cfw.

If you have the new hdd you want to install right now, you can replace the 3.41 pup file with OFW3.55 pup and put the new hard drive in. Put the usb in. Then turn it on and it will format the drive and update to OFW3.55.

Then install any cfw from recovery.
