i have tested a lot of things with jfw and also tried some hardware flasher free solution on downgrading, but it did not work. i have tested the qa method and even fsm, normal and with their advance preloader, but neither does work. you still have to use a flasher or wait for MAD.
i even had problems to update to ofw 3.56+ from jfw and my guess is their "custom" 3.56 private keys edit btw, this preloader and egea stuff is very interesting and i think this should be adopted to every cfw. i have located some changings regarding egea in sys_init_osd.self. they have renamed lv2diag to egea and planted it directly into this self. btw, this is 3.55 signed, but it is refused on 3.55 cfw. But there is a solution. JFW can install dev_flash backups from usb from boot see here http://www.ps3new s.com/ps3-cfw-mfw/...ebug-settings/(you will have to remove the space between the 'w' and 's') but the link to the service pack is broken, anyway but it has instructions and a video. I'm uploading a mirror of the service pack 1.2.1 which you should be able to use to restore your CFW to be usable again. If you want I could create a custom dev_flash for your PS3 once it is restored to JFW, to make it look like regular CFW in layout. What the service pack basically does is flash the dev_flash to 1.2.1 of JFW 3.56. (yeah it's confusing). But since your dev_flash is the problem this will be the easiest way to fix it, and I know it works because I used it to upgrade to service pack 1.2.1. EDIT: But yeah, if you want 3.55 you will need to get a hardware flasher(as it seems current software methods have failed). But JFW 3.56 is still a good CFW. EDIT2: JFW 3.56 service pack 1.2.1 mirror: https://rapidshare.com/files/3748478...pack_1.2.1.rar

I hate to sound like a dick. Please don't take it the wrong way.
But you should of got a flasher to downgrade it before you bricked it. New ps3 costs more than a flasher.

i don't know nothing about downgrading with flashers but from what i understand is that if its bricked it wont be fixed either with a flasher progseek etc . . ?
i was 90% sure to fix it with my phone e debricked it at least 2 times with it,thought i would be able to do the same this time too |

"now when a self file and a pup are in the right usb it will power on and green light blicks constantly forever with a black screen, there is no recovery screen" at this point does your ps3 give a log on whether the downgrade was successful or not? If it does then maybe then all or part of the COREOS is still there, which means you should still be able to restore your dev_flash though the installation of the service pack. If it still won't boot try flashing your ps3 with JFW 3.56. But if your PS3 is leaving no log when you attempt to downgrade, your nand is screwed and can only be recovered with a hardware flasher. Although If you can't send it to a de-bricking service, or can't do it your self, buying a new ps3 is the only way.

ok then for now i will try service pack and if it wont flash i'll try jfw 3.56 just as you said although it did not let me use this last one neither for updating from xmb or recovery when it was 50% on jfw ma before it bricked completly ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* tried . service pack wont make the ps3 read the contents (usb led blinks just once) as for putting the self with jfw pup in root it will give same error as doing the procedure with other firmwares (it will read from the usb device for some seconds because it blinks more than once) error code in the log with jfw manufacturing updating start PackageName = /dev_usb000/PS3UPDAT.PUP settle polling interval success vflash is disabled... boot from nand flash... creating flash regions... create storage region: (region id = 2) format partition: (region_id = 2, CELL_FS_IOS:BUILTIN_FLSH1, CELL_FS_FAT) create storage region: (region id = 3) format partition: (region_id = 3, CELL_FS_IOS:BUILTIN_FLSH2, CELL_FS_FAT) create storage region: (region id = 4) format partition: (region_id = 4, CELL_FS_IOS:BUILTIN_FLSH3, CELL_FS_FAT) create storage region: (region id = 5) create storage region: (region id = 6) Initializing taking a while... start Updating Proccess Initialize elapsed time = 89 msec check UPL UpMng.UpdatePackage() failure manufacturing updating FAILURE(0x8002f176) Total Elapsed time = 1429 msec |

After checking the log you gave me:
Look at the parts in green, it only ever got to the stage of formatting the 3 dev_flashes. Which means only your empty dev_flash directories are (most likely) the problem. So I have an idea. There is a "/dev_flash/" backup/restorer by JaicraB called Preloader Advanced 2. (which you can download here). How to use it: 1/Extract the contents the PreloaderAdvance2.zip to the root of a USB, and rename the "flash1_backup.bin" (found in the service pack you downloaded earlier) to flash1.bin, and put it also on the root of the USB stick. 2/Make sure the configuration file is set to restore the dev_flash. Though it is in Spanish, here's the Google translation so you can make sense of it.
3/Make sure your ps3 is in Factory Service Mode(yours is so continue). 4/Put the usb stick in the port dev_usb000 (closest to the disc drive) and turn on the console. 5/The LED will blink green while working on the restoration, when finished it will turn off by it self. 6/If it works, put the Lv2Diag.self which is used to exit service mode on the USB and exit service mode. The reason why I think this will work is that it is made to be used in Factory Service Mode on any fw(which doesn't have those keys revoked). And if your ps3 recognises a downgrade lv2Diag.self, then it should recognise Preloader Advance 2. If that does not work, and you are sure there is no way you can get a flasher installed and get it unbricked. Then your PS3 is dead .

1/"flash1_backup.bin" must be from the service pack located at http://www.horizonte-radio.com/demonhades/SERVIPACK/ or the one you uploaded ?if it shoud be the one you uploaded its no longer available and i did not downloaded it because while it was up my ps3 was already bricked and i tought it wouldn't help . . . in bacame ################################################################################ #JaiCraB 2011. Preloader Advance 2.0 Archivo de configuración. #Opciones secuenciales aceptadas por un delimitador "punto y coma" #delante del activado/desactivado (1/0). #Comentarios con almohadilla. ################################################################################ #Backup de "/dev_flash" Fichero destino "/dev_usb000/Backupflash1.bin" ;0 #Backup de "/dev_flash2" Fichero destino "/dev_usb000/Backupflash2.bin" ;0 #Backup de "/dev_flash3" Fichero destino "/dev_usb000/Backupflash3.bin" ;0 #Restore de "/dev_flash" Fichero origen "/dev_usb000/flash1.bin" ;1 #Restore de "/dev_flash2" Fichero origen "/dev_usb000/flash2.bin" ;0 #Restore de "/dev_flash3" Fichero origen "/dev_usb000/flash3.bin" ;0 #Salida del service mode ;0 #0=Apagar , 1=Reiniciar ;0 or shoud it be 0=Reiniciar also i can keep it in spanish i assume? 2/i am going to copy , paste and use the cfg above if you confirm to me that is ok 3/Now this question might sound stupid considering my actual ps3 situation, but considering the point i am at and got almost little to nothing to loose, can i still edit anything else within the .cfg , .bin or .self files to get rid of jfw in case the ps3 debricks . . assuming there are any possibility it will . . or you wouldn't do that i suppose . . .if you wont i will just do what you wrote above and keep files with jfw on usb Last edited by sewershark; 03-01-2012 at 04:13 AM. |
