I have a CECHK01 PS3 With OFW4.10

I tried following your steps (E3 sucessfully installed, and Backups made perfectly)

1. Put the e3_downgrade.bin file on your sd card. Insert sd back into flasher.
2. Set switches 1 - 5 down and 6 up.
3. Press reset, then start. Wait for the blue lights again. When done lights alternate blink.
4. Turn power off on PS3.
5. Put all switches down. Power on PS3 to XMB. You should get a screen that says "Plug in controller to USB and press PS button"
DO NOT DO WHAT THE SCREEN SAYS!
4.TURN OFF POWER BY SWITCH OR PULL POWER CABLE.
5 Insert your downgrade dongle in the right USB port.
6. Plug in power cable or switch back on.
7. Press POWER then EJECT in that order within a split second. and wait for the PS3 to shut off by itself.
8. Place the Lv2diag.self and Rogero_v3_with spoof from the step 1 folder onto a USB Flash drive and rename Rogero_v3_4.11SPOOF_PS3UPDAT.PUP to PS3UPDAT.PUP.
9. Replace the downgrade dongle with the flash drive in the farthest right USB port.
10. Turn on your PS3. Wait. In about 3-5 minutes your PS3 will shut off.
11. Take the flash drive back to the computer and quick format to fat32.
12. Place the Lv2diag.self from the step 2 folder onto the flash drive.
13. Put the flash drive back into the farthest right port of the PS3 and wait, in about 30 - 45 seconds it will shut down again.
14. Take out the flash drive, then turn on your PS3. The first thing you will see is Rogero when your PS3 boots up.
15. Now you need to repeat Chapter 1 Part 2 Make some bios backups. This is IMPORTANT in case you brick while installing other firmwares.

But when ever I get to "5. Put all switches down. Power on PS3 to XMB. You should get a screen that says "Plug in controller to USB and press PS button" I never get a Plug in controller screen. It boots up my PS3 normally (and shows my XMB)

And when I cut the power, and use my PS3Key (on the right usb) and when I reboot it (switching the power back on) it takes about 30 seconds until the XMB shows (It doesn't turn off automatically like how it should)

Why is this doing this? I've already done the previous steps without any problems. (I've used the downgrade_bin and waited like 6 or so minutes before all blue lights lit up).

Switch 6: for specifying whether it is a flash-related operation or a special operation. When it points to UNLOCK, special operations such as one-key downgrade and firmware upgrading, etc. can be performed. When it points to LOCK, flash-related operations such as flash backup and recovery can be performed.

Yeah, that is a typo. Should leave switches 1-5 down and 6 up.

like with the new PS3 Factory Service Mode Tool v0.2 ?
any ideas besides a dongle please ?

That tool won't work, because you can't run Homebrew apps, unless you are on cfw.

E3 card reader would be the best choice. I seen them for $9.95 at modchipcentral.

Sorry but there isn't any way to downgrade without the dongle.

hello, thank you for your tutorial.

i also want to remarry a blu ray drive to a ps3. but my problem is, with wrong blu-ray-drive-board i´m not able to start a program (installing a pkg is no problem). i only get a black screen (of course of the wrong com board). so i´m stuck. i also tried to downgrade with old method. then i got a bricked ps3 (ylod)

is there another way to downgrade to 3.15 with e3 flasher to remarry drive? thanks for ANY help

i bought the e3 nor flasher from there(modchipcentral.com)costed me around 120$ with shipping fee .. though the e3 nor flasher alone costs 70$.. then i noticed that i need an esata to sata cable .. had to buy it from china just arrived four days ago .. now i need this dongle thingy ! they should put the requirements in the e3 flasher site xD
I am in saudi arabia ... i found one called ps3 usb jailbreak adapter but not sure if it's going to work perfectly ? i think its better to buy an old psp with 5.50 firmware or lower ..
