(I soldered my PS3 to the trigate w/ SBE point, but I'm not sure if it was successful).
This is my first installation to CFW. I am on V4.10 (and my HDD is formatted, so there's no contents of it in my drive).

But I do see the "Plug in controller to USB and press PS button"
And I was able to get it to shut off using my E3 Card Reader w/ the file to FSM the PS3 (I also have a PS3Key, but I just used this instead.)

After it shuts down, I remove the Key and put in my own USB with the Lv2diag.self and PS3PDAT.PUP (Rogero V3.1 CFW) (It's a 64GB formatted to FAT32 which DOES work on the PS3 as I've tested it before when my PS3 was working with OFW installed).

Thing is, while I boot it up with the USB in at this step, my PS3 Stays on and never shuts down (I've waited up to 45 minutes). The green power LED doesn't even blink to indicate it's shutting down.

I don't know why it doesn't work. I'm 100% sure the clip is installed correctly as I was able to backup my flash and install the e3_downgrade.bin file.

What could be the problem? (Also I'm on a Fat PS3 CECHK01 using a Western Digital Scorpio Black 750GB).

I also know for a fact there's no issues with the HDD either as OFW was running earlier today. (I also did a Long format on my Laptop which also checks for bad sectors), there were no problems.

Any ideas?
Try and go back to recovery mode and install OFW 4.10 or OFW4.11.

Then start this guide from Chapter 2.

Note: the wire soldered from the pao tristate to the sbe, is only in case you brick. Right now you are not bricked.

When ever I try to install OFW 4.10 I either get a "Data is corrupted" error (which it isn't)

Or the PS3 update fails at 99%.

Yesterday when I got my HDD out (this wasn't even used on my PS3 before, it is a new HDD) I was able to install FW4.10 using my USB (the very same one) the same way, and it worked.

Now, no matter what I do, I always end up with an error.

Is there any alternatives or solutions to this?

Did you forget to plug in a cord? Bluray maybe?

If that were the case, my Blu-ray disks wouldn't eject (or go back in), would it?

There are two cables for the blu ray. one power and one data.

Right now, whenever I try to update, it keeps saying "The data is corrupted" (after it formats the HDD, and initializes the "update" and reboots the PS3).

But I'll check over all the cables again.

Edit:
Trying again, hopefully it works. (Nothing was disconnected but I disconnected and re-connected each cable.)

Edit2:
Nope, it still says "The data is corrupted."

Edit3:
It says Data is corrupted even when there's no USB with any update data..

Edit4:
Slided the E3 slider to "Unlock" and rebooted into Recovery and picked Option 6 again. This time I didn't get "This data is corrupted." I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Edit5:
Nevermind, it still said "This data is corrupted." after it rebooted. I am going to try to re-flash PS3

Edit6:
Reflashed, and reformatted HDD
Managed to bypass the "The data is corrupted" error. Now it's installing AGAIN. Hopefully it doesn't stop at 99% like how it does always.

Sigh, no luck. Still does that 99% bull****.

Anyway to fix that?

Edit7:
Going to try to do a low-level format (zeroes) on the HDD.

Edit8:
Update fails at 99% still, and gives an error code: 8002F313 (and reboots in 60 seconds).

If your ps3 will not turn on, then follow this guide.

Was your flash drive formatted to fat32?
And did you put the Lv2diag.self and Rogero v3.1 PUP renamed to PS3UPDAT.PUP in the farthest right usb port?
Were the switches set to 1-5 down and 6 up?

You might as well finish the downgrade, then just update to OFW4.11.
