Deroad,
So what do you think about flags being recycled?
(For one little thing i can remember (and prove it but indirectly)and think about Sony security procedure...i ll said yes but i want to know your idea and Sandungas)
About specifics type (and regions) of ps3...probably yes (but don t have any proof or examples), somes flags will only work on that specifics ps3 with that specific fw before they are trying or not QA test on retail.

Even Category also can affect flags ( something really general but in case others read)

---------------------
(proof of being recycle as really indirectly, at least the idea Sony thought about it so my question is real)//

--------------------
title and title ID can matter also..may be (general advice for people..and will like to know others opinions about it//as white list)
--------------------(white list title_id used for remote play with pc)

well, i don't know. maybe it can be true. i never tested any kind of those flags with QA or similar modes.

i never tested any of those flags that are available with the param ATTRIBUTE.
i should try, but i usually have no time.

Im not sure if Ps3hen is reading this thread, but i have no better way to talk with him

He insist in adding "2P" to the page, even in places that was 100% verifyed (the "parameters table", one of my favourite places of the page)
All in this table is verifyed and i provided examples of them, at this point is not a good idea to add more speculation

I asked him to provide an example of this files (he said both.. "PS2 classics" and... "PS2 classic Game Saves") uses "2P"

Without the file examples, this last edits are more caos to the page... not usefull at all if is wrong (and a pain in my ass to erase them)

Edit: i sended to him a private message in other forum, asked to upload examples of "2P", and lilnked to this threat to read/join us

if that person means ps2 save data transfered from memory card (and after being export?)...i was planning to buy that memory card-usb accessory (not only for that purpose but probably really soon if needed for confirm or not 2P)

About that matter, feel free or Deroad (or anyone) to correct/delete everything i can add and sorry in advance.
It remind me my stupid mistake about one flag and License so i made again the procedure and...you were right of course but i found one new little footprint about X category/ by luck the unknown flag i want real bad come (and really trivial)//possible overwritten flags theory confirmed// and that error with License.
(but this need more check and i ll send you those little things by pm, also i may ask a lot of basic questions about the header and signature)

-----------------------------------

Samson added link for ps2 emulator pkg...and thanks to him it give me appetit for fews things little tests about it (but it was the same., from the size, that confirm 2D i send you Sandungas (and i believed there 2 pkgs related to ps2 emulators but now i have doubt)

------------------------

Same for Deroad s manual, it was posted page 7 but thanks you and hope to see you around that 2G&2D

While game saves of PSN PS2 games are handled in a similar fashion to PS3/Minis saves on the XMB, they are different. While PSN PS2 games do not save to VM cards in the same way to original PS2 games and PS1 games do. Each user who plays a PSN PS2 Game and makes a save, generates two VM cards (one for each slot) especially for that user account, for that game. Each time the game is loaded the user selected VM cards(chosen from the VMC ulitity) are um-mounted and the user's save file for that game mounts the dedicated PS2 VM cards to the PS3 Virtual MC slots. When the game is quit, the dedicated VM cards are un-mounted. But for some reason the user selected VM cards are not re-mounted, this is when I knew they mounted dedicated VM cards for each save. The save file structure goes like this:
/PS3/EXPORT/PS2SD/XXXX11111/ICON0.PNG
PARAM.SFO
SCEVMC0.VME
SCEVMC1.VME
Side note: "XXXX11111" will be different to the Title ID inside the Param.sfo. Inside the Param.sfo is the original title ID of the game when it was a PS2 Disc Game.

You can download a PSN PS2 game here Have a look at it if you want. That's the reason I bought it, only $5. From my view it was a bargain to get a peek into how Sony's PS2 emulator worked and see how good it worked. The game was boring as hell though.

EDIT: And if you missed it on the wiki page SFO examples of PSN PS2 games/saves here

There is an incoherence in the structure of the files uploaded by ps3hen, in two words and with an image:

The number of entries is 8 (at the top, marked on red), in this order:
ATTRIBUTE
BOOTABLE
CATEGORY
PARENTAL_LEVEL
PS3_SYSTEM_VER
REGION_DENY
TITLE
TITLE_ID

The last one (TITLE_ID) has a "Data_Total_Size" of 0x10 (marked in yellow at the top) that are 16 bytes marked in blue at the bottom
This is where the structure ends, in the last byte of the last entry

The area marked in black is OUT of the structure !!!

---------------------------
Additionally the other "savedata" formats (SD and MS) are not BOOTABLE (obviously you cant press X over the icon of a savedata to boot it), and neither have PS3_SYSTEM_VER, REGION_DENY, etc... (the savedata is generated in your own console, so no point for this kind of restrictions)

Use this table to compare http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/PARAM...rameters_Table

Edit:
Wellcome PS3hen, and thanks to join the talk
I didnt saw your message, sorry, i must be blind

Edit2:
What a mess, im beggining to understand what it does with the "PS2 savegames", but this will need a new section on the page, because this is a very speciall case

The most important question:
Where are stored this files in the internall HDD ?
Because in the XMB i understand are displayed in the same "Memory Card Utility (PS/PS2)" folder, with the other "normal" virtuall memory cards
So this PARAM.SFO is helping to manage this speciall memory cards in some way

P.D.
Note that the files (SCEVMC0.VME and SCEVMC1.VME) are included in the game installer itself (inside the .pkg).... this "virtual memory cards" are copyed to your internall HDD when you install the game

This im writing is correct ?
And 1.000.000 thanks to you for the files ---> http://axonnsd.org/WebData/FlashFun/flash/thankyou.swf

-----XI-----------------
Name description for XI by hxd the name category even under classic sfo.
Tested under one "monster" .sfo (my little creature to catch the X category) and one from original game disc but don t seens to have real differences)--- name pop up on tools.
Tools recognize the category XI such as "System File for Extra Content Item" and will give a lot of errors when trying to save as but it s not my big concern for the moment and really not important because the description related was already enough to understand this one.

I was trying "fews" things around the others "X" category and i may have catch somes of them...but i ll send PM to Sandungas when my theory is more clear.
------------------------------------

Thanks you PS3Hen

-----------------------------------
What s the differences between "For HDD game: format_num=0" & " For HDD game: format_num=1"?

lol, i like them
Can you say for sure if is related with discs only ?

The difference between "HDD game: format_num=" 0 and 1... i have no idea

Btw... i have updated the "Game Saves" page where are all the formats, i edited this page a bit previously, but a big update like this was in my plans

Please ada verify the paths for PS1, the ones for PS2 are a bit more complicated, but maybe Ps3hen can take a look
I noticed there was paths when exporting the files to a PSP... or to a USB pendrive, i keeped this edits, but im not sure when this happens
http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Game_Saves

Ohh, and i added an space for "notes" to the path tables, is important to explain if there is some kind of file conversions when exporting/importing the files between devices/consoles

About the XI category:
I did 2 more "test" by simply editing the category of one original disc .sfo DG and one original hdd AV (netflix) ------by XI to see how it will be cook by the generator and as others: top right corner appears the name descriptions.
So it ll probably work with everytype of sfo (but to make a valid XI for the ps3 system, you ll need to correct the errors windows when trying to "save as"
So what it look like, it seems a generic category ( and i don t remember for sur but i don t think it was me to put the related description)
I ll try to add more informations about it and a valid file (correct the errors) but it s for sure the name description of this category.

It was really by luck because others X category need more than editing the category to appears as "such" (they go undercover by "HG" but...one of my creature catch some of them and even with logo boot disable as attribut: my most wanted thing and now i can even localize, and i wanted this even more than VT valid or showing on 3.55 xmb)
I m trying to make sur of what is and what is not (but ll need more time, may be one or two days more, the big difference between real HG and "fake"HG aka X category undercover: they don t need license to be valid)
I ll send the report and files when it s ready (also with one other monster .sfo who like eating attribut)

About paths on ps1 files i ll have a look but not sur to be able to help.

--------------------------Samson,

i got a little info (come from one complete different hunt and was about ps vita on ps3) about music in game:
" it has to be disabled if SDK was 2.30 or older is used."

Don t know if by changing PS3_SYSTEM_VER or anything else on .SFO can help (somes games/ homebrews will need for sur more than .SFO editing to make somes attributs working)

-----path for ps1----
yes sur, (i m becoming tired i thought you asked something different) because i double checked the 2 external at that time i wrote on wiki and the internal...i got
dev_hdd0/savedata/vmc/Internal Memory card (i ll upload this file and check exactly but i m confident)

There are for sur also a file conversions when you want to transfer it to psp (xmb asking if you want to convert)

( I ll make sur and add details if i can...but with more rest)
