downgraded and remarried way, way earlier(with the previous method)..and lost blu-ray playback..could using this method and essentially remarrying the drive again..restore blu-ray playback on a drive, that had lost it?

yeah, but it was ps3 i had bought online, w/o a drive and replaced it with another one..didn't know the bd movie that was last played in it..tried running a bd movie i had laying around, but gave me errors for the movie..this was the previous method, by downgrading and remarrying..have yet to really mess with it anymore..was just curious if this method would be another way of restoring playback also..by remarrying the drive that was already remarried..

I used this method about a year or so ago to marry a Dual Laser drive from a buggered 40GB fat console (the one with two USB ports on the front) to my 60GB console with had a buggered Single Laser drive. It's still going strong. Never managed to say thanks for this. Almost jumped through the roof when my first disc booted up after being without it for so long. Thanks man.
************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Actually just read that properly and realised it's not the same method at all. Sorry man.

Update:
![]() - Small error fixed, FDM is resigned proper now for all versions (3.15, 3.50, 3.55) http://www.ps3devwiki.com/files/lv2diag/remarry/ ^previous posted question, answered: - Yes, PUP files are international, nothing PAL/Euro or NTSC/USA about them ![]() - For Bluray playback prohibited errors, you can use Recovery + Remarry, or the DRL tools. For the latter you dont need the exact last played disc, just the highest keyversion that was used. - In some rare cases enabling QA-extra solves dive init issues. in your tutorial you wrote:
5. Put the created USB Mass Storage device from step 3 into port 0 (closest to the reader) and run. How do I "run" it? thanks |
