Hi guys,

been a while since i posted here - daily reader tho.

With new developments at a standstill, now news games etc. im basically left with a PS3 that acts as a mere media server unless i want to play games <=3.55

so my question is, do we hold out for Kakarotok to change water into wine by cracking this baby or do we just bite the bullet and upgrade? it is a real possibilty that the PS4 will be out before and even if this ever gets cracked, and as someone posted earlier - we cant even figure out TB

hard to know what to do but opinions are welcome

if u give up easily than its up to u....
there are two option right now....
1- we solve the algorithma right now...!?
2- creat a spoof version to be a base of pup...!?

cos what i have learn a spoof is installed after cfw right....the truth cfw always behind ofw...so what i want ask to dev was cfw must infront of ofw...
i know its like a dream but one from millions dream may be came true...

Don't hold out much hope for Kakaroto. I think that project is stalled last I checked. There seems to be no hope for 3.55+ CFW. Either buy a TB or upgrade to OFW. Those are your only options to play new games.

your forget the (IMHO) best option, get another PS3, one on CFW and one on OFW.

It's not stalled completely last I checked. It is only stalled in the original route where kakaroto gets the algorithm but since that's a no go due to someone he is going a different route. He is still working and he (last I checked) is looking for signature collisions [source: Kakaroto blog].

Look at the last post of his blog. That was well over a month ago. Plus, kakaroto even mentioned on twitter that he is busy with other stuff and haven't put much work in jailbreak. So I thought the project was completely stalled.

I do recommend OFW over true blue. It does appear that things are slow, and I honestly could not blame you if you wanted to update. You can get the same homebrew (well may not be the same name, but same in functionality) on a pc, wii, and 360 with the RGH. If my ps3 hadn't have died I was also planning to update mine to OFW. I have had a lot of fun with my MFW ps3, but I get that feeling of "been there, done that" now. OFW does offer a lot now that you think about it. No game restrictions and PSN (SEN), but you lose backups, linux, and homebrew. The choice is yours and yours alone, but if there are games you want to play and cant, I suggest updating. There is one thing in common amongst all of us, we are all gamers first and foremost. Even this war between True Blue and anti true blue share the same in common.

If people are going to update there PS3 i think the best thing to tell them is offer your PS3 ,as in for sale or trade for a OFW . A person like me would buy a brand new ps3 & trade it for a CFW 355 PS3 as long as it is not a piece of crap & nothing is broke or been broke . If people update there CFW like this ,we who luv CFW will not have none to buy when a time comes if, we who have 1 or 2 CFW 355s just break down . We need resources. I think selling your CFW 355 & making a deal with somebody should be the first decision .I mean what is the difference ,you are just going to kill the CFW scene by updating eventually by making the availability for used jailbreaked PS3s less = Extinct There are many who would kill to buy a good jailbreaked PS3 .

As a matter a fact i am thinking to buy a 3rd SLIM if i can find somebody that is not a scam & honest + not a crap slim PS3 . I would buy or possibly make the trade for a new PS3 .As long as the person is legit .I don't want a crap PS3 & i will find somebody, no way i will be without my CFW ..

I decided to update to OFW a few weeks ago. I would rather support the developers that make the games than support true blue.

@kingh11 Yes you rather support the developers. Well so do i ,as i have a OFW .Honestly though ,having a CFW is not all about Piracy or things like this or "TB". There are many different reasons to have one .I will give you my example & my cause . I luv having my PS3 like a PC .I luv making MODs ,Playing games with mods ,especially when i can mod them i enjoy it even more testing them ,when i get board + FTP access like a PC & more .This you can not do on a OFW .So selling somebody your PS3 would make another person happy. If you dont care about CFW why not give a person the chance to do what they luv to do or are dying to do. Believe me i went out & bought 2 PS3s just cause of these things. I already had 1 OFW PS3. UI spent $600 Just so i could mod my games for fun & have control over my PS3 + everything else CFW offers. I did not waste any time when i seen i can mod my favorite-> COD Black ops zombies for offline + other games. You cant do this on OFW cause re encrypting files do not work for OFW .For this i will never go back to OFW !

People need to be more understanding .Offer somebody else the fun you had if you dont care about it anymore .The main thing here is if you have a PS3 in good shape & on CFW ,see if somebody would hook you up with a good deal for it before updating it.
