Hi,
i decided to buy a ps3 and hack it with the E3 flasher limited. it's pretty hard to find one that can be downgraded from 4.11 to 3.55 / 3.41 .
i have to buy a used one, but im not quite sure which ones are downgradeable.

is every ps3 (slim/fat) downgradeable with a datecode below 1A? or do i need to know the cech-number?
to install a 3.55 cfw, is it enough to downgrade it to 3.55 or do i jhave to downgrade it to 3.41?

knowing these facts would make ma life so much easier

u have to find a PS3 that the first Firmware was below or euqal to 3.41...

i saw the pictures with the cech-code etc. in the E3 flasher tut, but i some cech (like CECH-250.B) are both, downgradeable and NOT downgradeable.

if im getting it right, that means it's not always enough to know the cech-code because it may be not a correct one.
but can i ALWAYS be sure, that a ps3 with datecode 6A to 0D is downgradeable and works fine with the E3 flasher?

uhm .. with the newest E3 Flasher LIMITED, it's possible do downgrade from 4.11 to 3.55, isn't it?

If your getting one used, just ask the seller to let u run the minimum firmware checker. They should be turning it on so you can see it works any way.

If you are getting it on ebay or something, the seller may check for you if you ask.

But like posted above, you can find your answer on ps3devwiki, about the data code.

All FAT PS3's, CECH-20xx and 21xx Slim PS3's (120 and 250GB), and CECH-25xx Slims with datecode 0C or 0D (some 1A's aswell but better avoid those just to be safe) can be downgraded to 3.55.

I thougt all 2501a's can be downgraded. I did a 2501b last week. I think the 2504 was when they started coming with 3.56.

All 25xx with datecode 1B have metldr.2 and cannot be downgraded.
Some 25xx with datecode 1A cannot be downgraded either, although some don't have metldr.2, something else must prevent them from downgrading (maybe minimum applicable version, but that could be bypassed by replacing ALL the version values to 3.56 on a 3.55 MFW, which would be impractical and might not work, a simple spoof won't work either).
