You probably want to start with flashing your xbox.
Get the tools (x360usb, probe, etc..) You can find these bundles on mod sites, for starters learning xbox modding/flashing. All fat 360's can be flashed, slims differ because...

1) Early model slims brought the d2s drive, so those you can flash normally (just kind of hard to find)
2)Later model slims can be flashed, but they need a PCB replacement.
3)Some of the newer model slims can't be flashed yet, but they WILL be able soon!

...so that's up to you which console you'd like. Burning games is simple, just remember to patch your games if you plan on going online. The media manufacturer really doesn't matter, some may last longer but they all run the same. We're online 24/7 here and have never been banned, the worst case was my little brothers black ops getting zapped for not patching the game on abgx. I don't know what else to say..lol

Actually, new XGD3 games, use a new disc format and can not be fully burned with a regular drive burner and discs. They need a ihas burner with a CFW http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106289 . i could sell you that with fw loaded for $30, then you get verbatim DVD dl discs, to burn xdg3 games (gow3 and newer usually), Older xdg2 games can be burned on pretty much any dvd DL and on any drive and be safe online.

Xkey is also a good option and is pretty live safe (ive been using online for 2 months now) It allows for isos on a external hdd to be played on 360, this is a easier option, no special drive needed, no discs and no burning. This would cost you $130 to have me install though.

If you dont want to play online ( ithink you said you did) RGH is your best option.

IF you do want to play online, DUALnand RGH+flash, Just flash, or xkey are you best options.

No slim every had a d2s drive, there was d4s drives (mxic) that can be easily flashed with probe, and then there were slims on a old dashboard, that didnt need a probe, (13599 dash updated all drives), and new d4s winbond drives can be flashed with a PCB replacement, or you can kamikaze unlock them, which is defficult for some, but have done many with succes :D. And there even newer drives that cant be flashed at all like you say.

WHAT???? Are you just trying to sell more stuff? Of course he can burn XGD3 games with a normal burner AND with ANY media he wants! (Even the office depot brand dual-layers work) ...you just allow the 8gb iso to be burned to the edge of the disc when prompted by img burn or w/e you'll use.

You charge $130 for the xkey's installation? That device barely costs $130 on it's own. lol

You are partially correct that you can use any media and burner to burn xgd3s but that would truncate the disc and it will be missing some data, which Devotoux wouldn't want since he doesn't want to risk being banned. C4eva and everyone recommends to get the ihas burner and verbatims if you truly want to be safe online. Bpear was saying that with the xkey +installation would be $130 , xkeys go for 100 bucks. No slims ever had a 16d2s models, MS step up their game with their slims trying to further protect it. Your slim drive was probably 9504 with no write protection unless you updated it.

Devotoux if you have the money I reccommend an xkey, which I have (done by Bpear), That way whenever MS makes a new update you can update it with no hassle and no burning. If you rather flash, just buy the ihas burner and the verbatims to be safer.

tbh its not hard to install an xkey and its not something that should be to expensive to have put in as it doesnt require soldering or any of that s***

Noo.. i said to be as safe as possible on live you need a ihas burner and verbatim discs.. c4eva made a fw called Burner MAX for Ihas lite on burners. XGD3 games use more data, so this custom FW and drive are required to 100% burn the data to disc, if you use other media and burner with xgd3 games, you have to truncate them and they are NOT safe online. Many games like forza 4 wont even boot when burned to non verbatim media, and without burnerMAX liteon.. No slims were every manufactured with d2s drives.. go ask anywhere. And $130 is for cost of XKEY+Install+shipping back, that is a good deal. Not $130 for just install.. that would make no sense.

Safest thing is playing properly burnt games with lt+3.0 fw, with the ISO ran through ABGX. But XKEY with isos ran through ABGX is a close 2nd, and is a much easier, and nicer method. $130 would be my price, you would also have to pay to ship your xbox to me. But using any modded console in anyway is at risk of getting banned, some more then others.
