Ok so after a horrible fiasco trying to downgrade my 60gb from Kmeaw3.55 to ofw3.50/3.41/3.30 and almost giving me a heart attack with a corrupted flash before I got it to boot again, I finally got to run the remarry method. It said executing then changed to something in blue text but then it turned the system off so i couldnt read it. Anyways so i went ahead and booted still in service mode and put in the last BD movie that actually played in the drive. I got a "This video cannot be played (80029962)" where before it just use to say that BD Playback was prohibited. I was unsure about this so I went ahead and booted out of service mode and tried to run the movie in normal mode. I got the cannot be played message again. So i thought well maybe i did it wrong so I went back and did the process again (FYI using ofw 3.30 as the pup) and again got the blue text and tried again with the same result.

So what do I do now?

I had the same experience as ChaseHammer, in that I completed all of the steps but still no joy.

I did not use the last BD as I do not know where that is. I used a copy of the BD Sound of Music as I was under the impression that it was not necessary to have the initial BD used.

Anyone got any advice?

I don't know how to run the BD movie disc.

This is still not working for me. I was really hoping that this was the fix I needed. I used the updated files from the outset but still now joy.

I also downloaded the DRL tools but this does not run on my PS3

But please correct me if I am wrong but am I reading that if I drop the firmware lower that this too can also restore playback? I gave a few hundred gigs of games would these be lost in the downgrade?

I am on Rebug 3.55. I know that there are a lot of setting in this CFW is it possibly a settings problem from within?

I've seen many a good comment board ruined by that crap. it's like a fungus if you don't get all, it only comes back worse. Back on topic. This is great news, we don't get programs or upgrades of programs for fixing and stabilizing our systems as often as we'd like.

Since no one will answer any of us, I will tell you what I know. I lost playback somehow messing with hex files back when you needed a jig to jailbreak everytime, i never downgraded but somehow still lost it. Anyways I have tried EVERY solution and none of them work. I have since tried to downgrade to 3.15 and back up and still nothing. I am to the point where Im about to just forget about ever getting BD playback ever again on my 60gb which sucks because it is my main DVD player in my bedroom. You also CANNOT fix this issue with any setting in any firmware, not possible. DRL_Tools do not work for me either, just comes back cannot start message.

it just seemed a little odd that everyone is saying "Well done" but it was not tested! And then the updated information seems to point to alternative methods, to resolve the issue when I thought that we had the 'all in one' fix!

I understood that there are no settings within a CFW to resolve it, but just thought that maybe something within the myriad of setting in Rebug was stopping DRL tools from running. But you have Kmeaw CFW and still have that problem too! That is another tool I have to question if it actually worked.

I have read threads where people have placed the files taken from that MKB repository available. Without DRL tools can we just FTP the files into the appropriate place on the PS3?
