Latest ps3 model downgrade 4.00 fw
is it possible to downgrade a new ps3 model my friend just bought a ps3 from his friend it was the latest model of ps3 is it possible to downgrade it any help would be appreciated =)

Nope. If it came with firmware higher than 3.55, than your SOL.

Depends on what the factory OFW was. Check the code of it and there is a list around somewhere that gives you a good idea of what it left the factory with (I am sure someone else knows lol)

Just use the minimum firmware checker tool. It will tell you how low it can go.

If the serial of the PS3 contains: CECH-300XA (where X can be any number and A can be any letter), then you are out of luck. Those are not capable of downgrading at this time.
