Which CFW you have? You can try QA flag ,then downgrade to OFW 3.50,and then upgrade to OFW 3.55. After that put TB CFW firmware and try again.

Yes, you can use ps jailbreak as a downgrade dongle. Use the instructions on that page you linked, to install the downgrade dongle firmware to the ps jailbreak.

The e3 card reader from modchipcentral is only $9.95, and I think they are based in Canada.

11000010 PS3 is operating Nor, E3 Flasher cannot operate at the same time

That means you need to wait longer before hitting start. When you boot to the xmb, wait longer until you start the backup.

OK done it, gone back to OFW 3.41 but now I have a problem.

I have removed E3 flasher and rebuilt PS3 but when I start it it ask me to input date and time but the problem is the controller will not sync with the PS3. Even via usb lead and in recovery mode I can't get the controller to talk to the PS3.

YES I've done it first PS3 downgraded from 4.00 to 3.41 and never had to solder a single wire. Its taken over 6 hours but thanks to playerkp240 guide all is good.

What model is your ps3?

When you put it back together did you connect all cables and wires?

Yeah I have it working now, its a phat chechm03.

I am now trying a ps3 slim that I have here, never opened a slim before so all strange to me.
At the moment I am trying to backup bios from slim and just keep getting blue lights 1 5 and 6 flashing.
Any ideas ?

Got a problem for some reason the E3 clip wont sit tight on the samsung slim nor chip, I can put it over it but it just falls off.
Just tried the clip on a broken ps3 phat and it sits tight.

Have I bent the pins on the slim too much hence why the chip wont click tight ?

Not too sure what to do now, I have ordered another clip but think the problem lies with the legs with the samsung chip.

Some slims are hard to get the clip on. There is a transistor in the way, preventing the clip from sitting flush to the motherboard. You may have to trim a little bit of plastic of that side of the clip.
