lol am i rubbing of on you @Wolfie708 , insulting people.....

Whilst it may not be fair to use the piracy statement all the time, it is fair to deduce that at least 70% of the people that own a TB device own it for piracy's sake, @svenmullet is right when he says, that it is plastered everywhere '$60 for 80+ games is a good bargain', so its safe to say that when one says that, that they are indeed pirating.

But piracy shouldn't be the reason to hate this device, nor should it be a reason to not crack it apart, it should be hated for the DRM that shackles it.

I'll quote myself from crunch again...
As I said, they had done the hard work already by converting it back to source code.
They also had enough skill to remove the ability to play burnt discs so it could fit on the smaller chip.

This JB2 is about as easy to "crack" as it gets.. it's like its been served up on a silver platter.
This dongle just has to fall into the right hands and its done basically.. someone who can find the pins and short them at the same time.
The 2.5 update is a walk in the park as well, it would only require the new dongle ID to be added and the new data to be added to the SPI.
There's REALLY not a lot of possibilities for a different dongle ID as well.
You guys who go on about hating the TB.. donate one of these JB2's to your favourite/most competent dev.
If this dongle gets cracked then TB have to release another dongle basically.

I am going with Gravox.
I've heard from people that JB2's structure is basically "solution on a silver platter".

It might not solve problem in the long term but the access to most/all current TB games would be granted for free.

Another reason I hate these TB things; the dongle is essentially a red herring. We might not know the actual code that runs on it, but we know basically how it works and what it does, and that its only purpose is to make people pay for the firmware. It has nothing whatsoever to do with playing newer games, that is done with patched eboots. But everyone concentrates on the dongle.

Very true sven!
The dongle gets cracked and all we will be able to do is flash the stuff on to our old JB dongles.
However if we crack the dongle, get the source of the dongle, disable the Peek/Poke suicide code then things get really interesting
As Mark Webber has said a glitching method to retrieve the unencrypted EBOOTs from RAM is a very likely method of getting them.. from there its a simple matter of re-signing them to 3.55

I know that in this forum there are people inteligent enough to help me to really change the region of my console so I can play portal 2. Can anybody take me a little bit seriously?
I have rent the backup, I swear it is legal, just in case that anyone could have prob with that. Please, could anyone (apart from paradox) tell me how to modify the Eboot of portal 2 so it matches my region (pal)?
I am not going to repeat the post, if any moderator sees that Im not obbeying the rules, it is just asking for help. No flame, no offtopic, just help. Thanks.

@svenmullet

Yes, I am ranting a wee bit, and sorry, you just got in the line of it *Blush*

You and @GregoryRasputin are right that a lot of TB users quote the $60 for free games thing.

That does not p*ss me off though as like I said, the people who buy it are helping to keep the scene stagnant and no matter how much you try to convince them otherwise they will not stop as it is human nature to want something for nothing.

What does p*ss me off though is intelligent people who could argue against TB logically and with so much more force, resorting to the old 'TB equals Piracy' line (or similar with same meaning).

As I said, apologies to you, (and Yes Greg, I think I have a mild dose of Rasputinitus), and I think the thing that annoyed me about your post that I quoted was that it made sense and was logical until you ended it with the Piracy stuff.

How can I change the version of the patch?
I´ve tried changing the param to bles01222 but won't work.
If the ps3 is from EEUU it works, but if it is from Europe, not, even if I unplug the ps3 from internet.
Any idea to make an european version of the patch?
