They are in for the same reason as True Blue: Money. So if they release the method they will lose money. And you don't have to understand 100% to make it work with their dongle. They don't touch the Eboot's or CFW, they only copy/modify the payload (still you need the brains for it, and a real challenge for a hacker)

mmhhh the dfu files from JB can be extracted as three types.
Bin/hex and s19.

the s.19 files loads as memory in ida pro.

and someone with the name danny makes the JB


edit
the dongle protection is old from 2009.
