ofw run signed apps and games etc , debug run unsigned games and apps also debug fw got debug menu unlike ofw . sort of like rebug menu but better

retail consoles have their own firmware
debug consoles have their own firmware

crossflashing isnt an easy task and the method is too profitable to be released by those that know how already. without a flasher, you can do nothing currently and even if you had one you wouldnt get it working yet

so retail systems need crossflashing to have debug fw and you will need a flasher...not like ofw pup i take it! What keep this from working yet???

a retail console is not a debug machine and will not accept their firmware.

conversions have been done / sold (released partly in dongle form) but like i said, the people who know, make a profit off it. to release the info would be bad for business so the rest of us have to wait.

people are looking into it as you can see but we are not at a stage where a simple release is possible. we have a partial method, not a full method.

That person only made a tutorial from something that was already in the wiki, its not something he discovered, or something he has tried (for that matter), and he was banned from the wiki most likely for trying to pass this as the ultimate solution, but what he doesn't seem to realize is that there are some decryption and encryption involved! its not just dump something, switch the values and its done.

@Pockets69 that's exactly what i figured since this was posted in the forums a few montgs back and has been on the wiki for some time. I just figured that he had the miasing info. Too bad that this was just a resurrexrion of old info. It is bad that this stuff just keeps popping up bec of ill informed people. If u catch my drift. Close this please.

Do you know if this is completely software based?
I thought (who I accused on twitter) had once said it needed some part of the ps3's hardware changing as well as software.
If it’s just software though would a dex nor dump give you more answers as to what needs changing or will the areas be too encrypted to do anything with?
