Anyway, I was quite at a crossroad, when trying to answer your poll. I understand why it is so hard for you, to make a decision about what to do with it.

I guess.. What I am leaning most at, if anything would be. Don't release it. Atleast not yet, however, perhaps at some time, if you decide the time has come. After all, it is only really wasted, if you don't release the work before the end of the lifespan of the PS3.
However, to throw a small exception to the above suggestion. I would be less inclined to withhold it to other devs you trust, and trusted devs in general, if I were in doubt, whether to release it. Although, of course, their opinions about releasing it might differ from yours, and they might try to take the glory..

now seriously, people need to be patient, and shut up, you release it when you have all your work done on it, if you ever feel like working on it again.
As of right now i don't see anyone able to run unsigned code on higher firmwares, so release the way of installing it wouldn't do us any good, it would in fact only patch another hole on the firmware.
Those months were not wasted, and your effort was appreciated, some of us here know how much time you spent on your stuff.
If you don't ever feel like working on it, you have a lot of inside contacts and you know if someone is cappable of getting code execution, just wait for it to be ready and then release it.

You gotta do what ya feel and what you can live with peacefully. I always considered your HEN as a major stepping stone towards a new MFW. Meaning, you have the framework in place....now the plumbing, drywall, paint etc. etc. needs to be added by someone else. (Not taking anything away from you and respecting your mission against piracy.)

Regardless, I'll continue to have much respect for you either way you choose.

Me and @PsDev share a similar idea.

Let somebody else handle the release for you. And if anyone wants access, they have to show their credentials to the person in charge of the release before they get it. This could slow the process of Fony catching up to the release, and patching it.

The bottom line is, IF you are not working on it, but the information could be useful to others who do want to work on it, then release it if you do not have any plans of finishing it. Plus, handing the release off to someone else might lighten the twitter load.

I agree, release only for Devs, at least they could do something with this exploit!

It really depends, I would only release it now if I knew I wasn't gonna work on it again and I didn't know anybody who could help. Perhaps it will be picked up by the community (such as it is) if fully released but perhaps not. I would say if you have no other options remaining then releasing it won't really do any harm.

End of the day it's your choice. Those arses who complain now will complain that it doesn't do exactly what they want it to do, even if it was fully finished. While the rest of us are just happy and thankful that you spent time trying.

It would be a total waste of your time if you release this unfinished! Because Sony will patch it ASAP, Just hold on to for the future. And the genpub have no use for this. Keep up the hard work when you can.

I would wait until it is ready before you release. It is your work, and releasing it now might have the result of it never really working the way you intended it to work. People should be happy that they even got a 3.55 MFW to play with while they wait for other things. At least you were honest. Most of the people wanting a release now will not be able to do anything with it, and apparently just voted without reading your post.
