I beg to differ, OFW allows you to do that so it's not the ONLY way.

They rush, they buy/consume and TB/JB2 it's a good *option* for those who don't want to wait. (and don't know what it's waiting in first instance) Yeah we can *consider* that TB/JB and others if you see the big picture, are *scene killers* but the objective it's crystal clear = BUY ONE. It's an opportunist window targeting a certain quantity of possible buyers. (This is bad? i think not.) It's pure marketing, It's business and for me it's ok. Some people won't buy it, others don't care. Others do. After all it's their money, not mine and it's your money to spend not theirs. You have the power to choose and that's what it's about. Just plain and simple = business And Business is everywhere..

My opinion (for what it's worth lol) is that the first TB was acceptable as it gave the people willing to buy it an option of playing their newest games. I can't say I ever agreed with it, but understood it.
Then came along the other 2 and that for me is where the active dislike of it started as it proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that no matter how much the 'Devs' bleated about morals and risk of law-suit, it was all garbage compared to money. I find it hard to believe that the 3 'teams' who have created a dongle and/or the game hacks to go with it are total scene strangers who just waited in the wings until they felt like doing this. DRM of this kind hobbles the real scene, and I bet my left testicle (I lost my right one in a previous bet ) that at least one of the people involved in it was one of the c*nts who bleated on about Piracy and law-suits before.

Sceners forcing drm on you is wrong even if the device was free. I will never change my stance on that.

On the other hand, if the developers don't get paid for what they do, then nobody would be backing up the PS3 scene. For example, the Xbox scene keeps going because the team xecuter charges for what they are doing (and I bet c4eva receives a big piece of that). So in the end it's all about money. If there's money, then there will be devs trying hard to break the PS3. If there's no money, then the devs won't pay as much attention to the PS3 as we would like. They have a life to live too and guess what, it costs money! I only wish they would focus on better solutions that include all consoles (3.60+ factory consoles too). The current solution is far from optimal. They are just decrypting and reencrypting eboots (my personal guess). If they have access to newer firmwares, they should focus on that so that every PS3 is jailbreakable. |

That's the thing, it isn't their work, also they aren't PS3 Devs, they are just some scum bags, earning cash of work the real PS3 Devs did for free.

Well, if that's true, then it changes my perspective of things. They are really scum bags and the worst kind of pirates.
