sweet - just to rephrase, i heard the PSjig software only works on PS3 console that are <FW3.55? (but thats for downgrade) as my PS3 were on 3.7x, will it still work and get me into service mode?

If you read that here? That is because that was before the method of downgrading was known.
After doing the step with the downgrade.bin, it will work as your downgrade dongle.
If you enter fsm before doing the e3_downgrade.bin step, your ps3 will be stuck in fsm.

I have downgraded ps3's on 4.11, 4.10, 4.00, 3.72, 3.66, and 3.60. And used my psp as a downgrade dongle everytime.

yesterday, my e3 flasher arrived and i realised that i need a dongle, too >.<
well than i read about ps3jig
does these warnings like 'dont use it on 3.56 and above!' mean that it cant be used on ps3's that came originally with 3.56? cause theyre not downgradeable at all ...

the ps3go supports playing 3.6x games, is that also possible through another way? that whould be a reason to buy it, but i think it wont be delivered to germany until weekend.

also my psp 3000 is on 6.60 cfw or so, will that also work?

If you upgrade beyond the version your console was before downgrading , then you will not need a no check firmware , right ? Example , you downgrade from 3.73 to 3.55 , withou doing Qa then you accidentally upgrade to , let*s say . 4.12 . This should not result in a brick

That is right.

But if you accidently update to ofw 3.72 or lower, without qa flagging, you will brick.

Ok , i did a stupid thing here . I mounted E3 on a slim PS3 and because i could not work with the clip in the HDD Bay i took out the metal shield of the MB , applying pressure to the clip with my fingers . The backup went fine , it was checked by someone and he also patched it for me . I tried to flash downgrade.bin but it interrupted because i could not apply consistent pressure . I did not shut down the console and i tried several and several times , removed the clip ,re-applied it.. no luck .
Now i'm getting the fail to initialize PS3 BIOS. error . It can do another backup , so the NOR can be read but looks like it can't be written . Did i **** up the NOR by attempting too many times to flash it ?
If i have my patched backup can i flash it in Flash Fun without soldering ?

I can see the psjig app on psp requested for some code then generated some, then sent back some code. Done.


But my Ps3 never shutdown...have you seen that before? should i con't to the next step?

would u be able to upload your version of the Psjig?

and how long does it take once the PSP tells u it sent the code to PS3 shutdown? Mine sent code once i turn it on before the connect the control msg appears on my TV.

EDIT:Played around a bit and looks like its working , shows done on psp and the PS3 shutdown
But now when i plug in the formatted USB with Lv2diag.self and E3's TB CFW no check , it stuck there for 30mins with the green power led blinking ....where to go from here? restore and start again?

make sure you renamed the TB CFW file to PS3UPDAT.PUP


If you did check the log file on the flash drive and see what it says.
