releasing this to the public would probably just give sony a chance to patch it before anyone can make use of it.

i would definitely recommend releasing to some of the trusted developers, to see what they can do

When it is finished, Sony patch it too. Actually, it does not matter when it is released... With a new Update from Sony, the PS3 lose a Feature. Now or in 2 Months, no matter.

I've been thinking about it today, now am of the opinion, Release it.

Sony makes nothing to kill the TrueBlue. But Devs who brings back Features (OtherOS), Sony kills...

correct it will get patch what ever way but lets say he release it now then the next update it get patched no one on 4.11 had the chance to have hen as we cant run apps etc .

but lets say he release it once we can run apps etc on 4.11 at least this way people on 4.11 will have the option to have hen. unlike if he realsed it now . yeah it will still get patched but people had the chance to have hen and chosse if to update to the next fw. where it will be blocked. its no use for the normal person , its only really usefull for sony so they can block it . which we dont . even if they cant block how we can install it they be able to block us running the apps once we got then running on the a update by changing the keys .

do u still think he should release it to every once still? and not let people have the chance to have hen .

I think with real developpers, PS3 Scene can be great great scene, but for this we need to have complete jailbreak with all firmware.

we have already 3.55 CFW but some company (true blue, JB) make lot of money with this , and it's not the true scene !

Even if release will be in 1, 2 or 3 years i'm for release only when it'll be finished

Release it only when it's finished. You're a good dev and I think that when you will have free time you will be fast and efficient by making apps run on the HEN.

Kakaroto, I know you're aware of this, but maybe some of the readers here aren't, so I'll explain what the problem is with this HEN.

Kakaroto found a way to make the "Install Package files" appear on 3.60+FW, and it even installs package files. (I think, correct me if I'm wrong on that) The part he can't overcome is the signing, and really, no one can overcome it. It's mathematically impossible to crack the encryption, unless you have access to every single processor in the world working in tandem for billions of years. mathieulh claimed to know the algo to sign the files, but what he was really doing was bull****ting Kak, either to get access to his exploit (he is a notorious leecher of other devs work) or to steer him completely off course (because he hates all of us and is selfish). In order for this (sort of) jailbreak to work, one must figure out the 3.60+ keys for signing files, in which case this HEN would be obsolete anyway, as we could just make a custom firmware.

Having said that, maybe you should just release it now, as is, except Sony will patch it.

If you think that no one will use it because most people will consider it completely useless then I don't see the point of releasing the HEN... if you don't have more time to keep working on it then you should give up on that, I'm sure most of us will be capable to understand that you have a life and many more important things to work on.

As much as I would love to have my hands on this exploit, and see what can be done with it, I think it should not be released until it is finished. Simply because you will probably get flamed by idiots because it "doesn't work" (even though it does, but to them, it does not).

If people are bugging you that badly, make your twitter private. People seem to forget developers have lives too, and are more so thinking about them selves than anyone else these days.

But, whatever you (KakaRoTo) choose to do, I hope it is something you actually wanted to do, not something you was forced to do.
