I never said it was because of geohot, it is because of ALL the users that flooded the scene afterwords. The scene grew 10 times in size once 3.55 CFW started hitting the scene.

I stand behind my opinion that all exploits in a hacking scene should be open and free, and hardware free if possible. You sounded like you were defending dongles, and that's what set me off I guess.

The hacking scene should be free, but first everyone needs to come together like they did when they reversed the original JB dongle.

And as for the JB dongle and these new ones not being similar, you have got to be kidding me.

Look at the track record.

PS JB - Brings hombrew and backups to PS3. Lets be honest, the main idea behind the dongle was backups (PS3).
Cobra - Brings better support to PS3. Also, the best 3.55 CFW, with better back up compatibility. Lets be honest, the main idea behind the dongle was backups (PS1/PS2/PS3).
TB - Brings ability to play new games. Lets be honest, the main idea behind the dongle was backups (PS3).

To all of the people saying this is useless. You base that on what exact fact? That it is useless according to the assumptions we have of TB right now? This thread is a compilation of findings about the dongle and their updates. It is like the ps3devwiki page, true, but this page cannot be update by someone attempting to spread misinformation either. Remember, TB devs might just be your most trusted devs as well, and judging by the security in place on TB, that they would stand idly by as people post information on it publicly.

Right now everyone is touchy in the ps3 hacking community. You don't know who to trust these days because there are people out there who know who the TB *ssholes are, and some of them are protecting/supporting them.
