i just restore my 3.70 dump all good but when i turn on its shows its in FSM.

so the Psjig did work...

however with the Lv2diag.self from step 2 folder into a fresh formatted USB, i cannot get the PS3 to EXIT FSM so i can do it all over again....

should i try to downgrade now while i am in FSM?

Hmmm. You won't be able to exit FSM unless you are on 3.55. So yeah try and downgrade.

If it bricks when trying to downgrade, try this guide to unbrick.

FINALLY.....

downgrade again, skipped the FSM mode and went right to install CFW then followed the rest of your tut ...finally i am now on 3.55

Hi, I deperately need some help with e3 flasher not updating,

i did everything i deassambled my ps3 round 10 times figuring ways how to always make sure that the nor clip is securely tight in both ends, and am sure they are.

i formatted my micro sd card to fat 32 put the update.bin file in its root

but when i switch on with the switches 1 and 2 down and the rest up, nothing happens,
the update does not occur, am stuck

moreover, if i try not to update and go ahead with taking the backup, with switches all down except the third one, the lights blink in blue,
i press start, they switch off and than the first, sixth and 7th flash rapidly and nothing happens, but i think that it happens due to e3 not being updated

any help is really appreciated,

That error (10000110) is failed to erase nor. Are you sure that is the error? Because u are not trying to erase the nor, when doing a backup.

As for not being able to update. Make sure the SD card is pushed all the way into the slot. When u turn on the ps3 with the update.bin on the root, all the blue leds light at once.

You could also try updating from Usb.

My mistake, they are one, five and six, do you know what error code is that?

and how do i update from usb, i have the e3 card reader and 3 folders, one for the micro sd and another 2 called e3_4m_stick and e3 upgrader

i did it so many times i dunno what;s wrong i even used a little paper to secure it tightly

10001100 is failed to initialize ps3 bios.

Which means your clip is not on good enough.

It can be a pain on some models. Make sure the clip is flush to the motherboard on all 4 sides. And tape it down securely. On some slims there is a transistor in the way and you have to shave some of the clip to make it fit. I have also used coins to make a permanent push on the clip when you put it back together.

aha i have that damn transistor in the way, even though its fat, i really did not notice it, thanks i will keep posting here, but thanks and thanks and thanks for your help

Update:

i did it and the error now changed, i have error 0100 0000 which is tf card error, you know how to fix it? and btw how do i update the e3 flasher from pendrive? cause it still did not update but went for the back up and got 0100 0000 error

i made sure that the connections are well but there must be something wrong with the sd card then, maybe that is why it wasn't updating?

so i bought a ps3 jailbreak dongle an old one .. put it in the ps3 and pressed the power button then the eject button .. it said update 4.11 it wanted me to update or something to 4.11 .. i turned off the ps3 and did the power button and eject button couple of times .. at the last time the ps3 turn on but the screen doesn't load .. i mean the ps3 works fine but the it doesn't give me anything on the tv screen its like its off but its not xDDDD
tell me i didn't break it ?
