Bricked my 3.55TB slim

OK guys here the story, I had a ps3 120gb slim on 3.60 that I downgraded to 3.55 Rogero then down to OFW 3.41 then up to OFW 3.55 then 3.55 TBv2.

Everything was OK but then tonight it froze while playing a game so I had to pull the power I then booted into recovery mode and selected number 3 "restore file system" everything was going OK but when it said have to reformat hard disk it got to 40% then stopped and I had no choice but to pull the power.
Now it wont boot it goes green light no pic or sound then turns off.

I can't boot into recovery mode it wont let me it just turns it self off.

I have formatted disk with windows 7 and tried to boot but again no joy.

Anyone think I could boot into FSM with dongle ?

Other than that anyone got any ideas ?

I do have the offical bios dump from 3.60 and the rogero 3.55 dump.

Try booting the PS3 without the HDD. Does the recovery menu appear?

OK its well and truly bricked, turn it on now and get YLOD straight away.

I'm I right in thinking I can not flash rogero v3.1 to the nor because I was on 3.55 Ture Blue ?

More likely to be an actual YLOD than a brick.
A console doesn't magically brick while you're playing.

And no it's not the CFW, if it was, you would have never been able to boot the console with the TB CFW.

just as pereb27 said, its a normal case of YLOD.. strange that a slim suffered from it but no console is safe from it

Do you have it on a reduced area? i mean, does it have proper ventilation?

Actually it's pretty normal for YLOD to happen in a 20xx Slim (albeit rarer than fats).
That said if it was a 21xx or 25xx, that would indeed be strange.

I bet you didn't change the thermal compound when you downgraded?.

If you didn't clean the old compound from the chips and the heat sink, then replace it with arctic silver 5. Your console was overheating from it, and caused ylod.

I'm just guessing. But sounds like what happened. Usually the console won't just brick, while playing a game.

Come on guys, of course I changed the thermal compound I've been messing with PS3 for over 18 months now.
Used Isopropyl Alcohol to clean and then reapplied arctic silver 5.

Forgot to mention I also a phat console here with a similar problem, it was on rebug 3.55 when I was installing another 3.55 firmware when it got shut down two thirds of the way through and now wont start and comes up with YLOD. Took it my mates pc shop with his rework station and even after a reball it still had YLOD.
This guy has fixed over 20 playstations for me on his station and never had a fail yet.

Well if you bricked due to power loss, only hardware will possibly fix it.

Search for thread Restore ps3 from any backup and try that with 3.60 original backup. With SBE soldered of course. Only if you allready tried all possibilities inlcuding reflowing. People get YLOD sometimes when flash is corrupted, and you need to erase and write flash again.
