The original Xbox is only slightly more powerful than the Gamecube and both are more powerful than the PS2.

I gotta admit, I have always been a Sony and Nintendo "fanboy". My first consoles and handhelds were of course with Nintendo. Nintendo always had dominated the console and handheld war. But I guess it was around 2001 when I got my PS1. Then around 2003-04 I got my PS2, then I got PSP in 2008, and then a Nintendo DS in 2010, and finally my PS3 in 2010. As you can see, I've always been with Nintendo and Sony and in my lifetime, I have played a 360 and the original XBOX about 3-4 times. Sad isn't it? Well it was all good until I got my PS3 and found how greedy Sony was. Sony had always been my choice until my PS3, and no matter how much better Microsoft was, I always sided with Sony. Now, I find Sony complete bastards which have no respect for their customers. I'm planning on getting a Wii U this or next year (depending on when it is being released), and WHEN the PS4 gets gets jailbreaked (highly doubt it will happen), I'll probably buy a PS4. Now, if by any chance the 720 turns out to have better specs, and maybe more exclusives, I may buy the 720, but I'm still a little spectacle about what Microsoft is doing with their console.

The Xbox 1 was a lot more powerful than the PS2. There is no slim margin there

Cpu:
Xbox = 733 MHz
Ps2 = 294.912 MHz (launch), 299 MHz (newer models).

Memory:
Xbox = 64 mb
Ps2 = 32 MB

Gamecube was saved by his own nice and short catalogue of games and being partner with ATI but in terms of cpu specs = 486.

lol erm, I think you guys misread my post.

I never said that the Xbox and Gamecube were "slightly" more powerful than the PS2...I clearly said that the Xbox was slightly more powerful than the Gamecube hence at the end of my sentence I said "and both are more powerful than the PS2". I didn't define the power with regards to comparing the Gamecube/Xbox to the PS2 as my focus was comparing the specific power of the Xbox and Gamecube...hence my other post stating that a Gamecube launch game looks better than 99% of PS2 games...

Basically, where did I say that the Xbox 1 was more powerful than the PS2 but only by a "slim margin"?

Nothing wrong with a bit of a misunderstanding but please try to read my posts...it wasn't long or anything!

The xbox1 was the only console was the only one of the 3 that could play games in HD. There was not alot of games developed that supported 720p or 1080i but the xbox1 was the only one that had them. Saying the xbox1 was only slightly more powerful then the gamecube is like saying the gamecube was only slightly more powerful then the PS2. The xbox1 was almost a dedicated gaming PC. I remember when it came out there was some budget PCs with close to the same specs that ran Windows ME. When the 360 came out most people were still using single core CPUs they may have had more RAM but the 360s specs were not that bad when compared to a budget gaming PC.

We didn't "misread" it you mistyped it. The quote doesn't lie.

You said slightly, I just reworded it

PS2 sells even now , why ? because games are now cheap and have a huge library of good games. That's the reason why Sony removed PS2 backwards compatibility (also to protect it...) because of the exact good games ps2 had and Sony tries to sell them on PSN .
Xbox had some great exclusive games. Xbox1s still sale and the games still sale. Also Sony this time around has screwed customers out of features every chance they had. The PS2 did have more games and more exclusives but how many of those games were shovelware and how many of those exclusives were because Sony had the companies locked in contracts before the xbox1 was released. If I am not mistaken the only reason GTA games were on the xbox1 is because MS paid for Rockstar to break the contract with sony. About the backwards compatibility Sony removed it so that it could charge people for the right to play a game they have already bought once. MS BC list would be bigger if it was not for Nvidia wanting fees of every game so MS just gave what they thought most people would want. I will probably never buy another Sony product for fear that a feature that I like gets removed will no real reason at all.

Oh and Persian Mclovin no matter what you meant or said the comparison is wrong. To get close to the specs of the Xbox1 you would have to add the PS2 and Gamecube together. Even when you did that the XBOX1 is in a way better. The CPU power of the Gamecube+PS2 would be about 50MHz higher the RAM would be the same but then you have the 8GB HDD in the Xbox1.
