i still dont get why ps3dev got a sever to host a clone of vitadev wiki etc . make a app that goes to the real wiki then no sever cost for him

i think he saw a gap making the *donations* issue. He eventually recovered the cost of the hosting a clone vitadev.
But the plan did not go well as expected.

i see now . why would someone donate for someone to host a clone , if the real wiki went down for good because they didnt get donations etc then the clone would disappear cos it have nothink to be a clone off lol

best to donate to the real one to keep it alive than clone

The clone and therefore the cost is due to PsDev using a readily available mobile browser proxy service from bmobilized.com. This is an easy way to allow mobile access for a plethora of different mobile devices, for a website which you have no control over. As I believe he stated, his intention was not to just allow access via this app, but also via any mobile browser by inserting a simple redirection script on the wiki for when viewed on a mobile device.

I can't speak for the vita wiki, but I am certain that Gregory would not see the end of it. As for the Ps3DevWiki, Hosting is not expensive at all. Small donations and ad revenue has already provided enough to see the hosting through for at least another year. If I can no longer maintain it for any reason, I would be passing it onto someone who cares enough to ensure its survival, e.g. eussNL.

I won't officially support this app because to my mind, it is largely unnecessary. I can access the Wiki from my iPhone and my android tablet with no issue - But I still struggle to see a reason why I would need to.

You can also download complete daily dumps, of all the information from the wiki (excluding page history, images and user pages) at http://ps3devwiki.com/dumps/ You can use these with any of the many Wiki XML readers for offline viewing on mobile devices.

Good app! Always good to see... aww who the **** am I kidding I can't ****ing keep up this bull **** sharade. WTF? So now android has another web browser, since a million wasn't enough. Worse you're still asking for donations for stuff no one would use if you offered for free. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, aww **** it who am I kidding no I'm not. Clearly you know some programming languages, but you can't ****ing use that to code something the people will use like maybe something to decrypt something, or download and sign pkgs then install to your ps3 while your phone charges? Nothing
