If this does turn out to be true, I may have to invest a little more into PC gaming :P

Who in their right mind would own Ps4 with knowing all that? Anti backward compatibility, not allowed to play pre ordered games. All those "lock" things that seem to be against all consumers. It's like they saying F U to all of us. And the resolution that high? You would have no way to even use the system. There is no tv cheap enough to go that high in resolution. Unless you got a 120 inch and even then I don't think that's big enough for that.

No PPC, no PS4 for me.... If I want to have an AMD processor I will buy a second PC and not a closed game console manufactured by some Fuhrers who think they can control my life
Intel/Nvidia is my way to go for PC power/graphics...

Said it before, still thinking about the Wii-U as next console

Btw, if you use SLI those resolutions can be reached

The only single TVs and monitors capable of the resolution are $10,000+.

At Oozic: Using SLI or Crossfire would result in higher console cost, power consumption, the need for good cooling, and a larger overall size of the console to make room for the cooling.

ps4 doesn't even need to come out, we can last until 2020 if they just drop an enormous amount of good games.

i'm pretty sure they have hdmi's that are close or can do 4K

It really does need bc though. i had a feeling next generation of gaming might suck...(if this is all true). It's just gotten too big so we need another suck period to weed out people just trying to fit in with others.

4K is an emerging standard for resolution in digital cinematography and computer graphics. The name is derived from the horizontal resolution, which is approximately 4,000 pixels. This designation is different from those used in the digital television industry, which are represented by the vertical pixel count; for example 480p, 576p, 720p, and 1080p. 4K represents the horizontal resolution because there are numerous aspect ratios used in cinema — so while the horizontal resolution stays constant, the vertical resolution depends on the video source (a.k.a. letterboxing). There are several different resolutions that qualify as 4K. As of 2012, YouTube is the only video hosting service that allows 4K videos to be uploaded (at a resolution of up to 4096 x 3072).

28" to 60" 4K TV's no need for an 120" monstrosity.

Anything past 1080p seems too far off to be thinking of currently. Personally I see no need for end users to have that high of a resolution these days. Maybe more so into the future.

Our eyes can only see so much. Then again, i remember it like it was yesterday everybody was bashing HDTV saying how there's no difference and they liked their SDTV just fine. Still hear people saying that but i've managed to convert many nay-sayers into the goodness of HD etc.

Also, I'd like to say I will not be buying this closed down unit but, who knows in the future. Everything is all rumours right now so there's really no point in being all pro or against.
