You can use a BDB CFW, but don't expect much for homebrew.

Running games discless has nothing to do with the BD Board. Whenever you load homebrew, it checks the BD board. If it's not there or married, it gives you an error message. Some homebrew are made to not check it though.

BDB aka Bluray Drive Bypass is not for running on a PS3.
It is used to "bypass" the checks on the drive during FW installs. If you have no board, or a faulty board, you get stuck in an update loop. This FW can get you out if it since the board is not checked and the update completes to 100%. If you have a board (married or not) you can use a normal FW and it will install. The FW only checks the presence of the board to see if the drives FW needs to be updated. Without a married board, all apps will blackscreen. The best guide I ever seen was to "remarry a drive" you just run QA Flag to downgrade. Errr, you cant run it until the drive is married in the first place. |

yea but there are certain apps that do not check for the bd....that is why most apps blackscreen it doesnt have anything to do with the fw....itsd the fact that the bd checks and fails so the ap wont run correctly....there has to b a way to take the bd checksw out of the apps source
