Weird Thing Happening on boot-up

Got a weird problem here:

-My PS3 turns on, 7 to 12 seconds later turns off.

-Turn it back on, boots to XMB successfully, but the clock has been reset.
All Files seem intact and not deleted (Multiman, backups etc.)

This has happened twice so far in 1 day.

The latest Multiman (04.02.04) is also now displaying this message in the top right on startup saying 'Happy New 2009 Year' whenever I go to use it. Didnt do that before.

It has been a week since I successfully downgraded my PS3 via E3 Flasher from 4.0 - 3.55 Rogero 3.1.

I can still play the PS3 upon second startup attempt, but anything weird like this that happens out of nowhere scares the **** out of me and gives me adrenaline rushes every time I boot the PS3 now (not a pleasant feeling)

This happened out of nowhere. Used it fine one night, next morning this happened.

Can a pro throw me some help?

Cheers

Did you remove the battery from the motherboard, when you took it apart to downgrade?

I haven't seen this specifically before, perhaps it could be a bad battery.

battery is what I was thinking too bro. My ps3 would hold the date and ti e fine as long as I only put it in stand by, but if I flipped the power switch it would reset

Nope

Whenever the PS3 crashes and restarting it doesnt work via holding power button down to get to standy I have no choice but flick the back switch.

Ive done that before and never had this issue when I turn back on.

Dad was having problems with radio interference and unplugged my PS3 as a possible fix, but I assumed he could only unplug it like anybody else would by the back cord, which again ive done and never had this happen as a result.

Ive unplugged the back cord couple times and never had this happen.

If this is a 1 time random supernatural thing that will not happen again thats cool but I need to know if I should fear a "RSOD-YLOD-3beep-power off-yourplaystations****edbeyondrepair" message

I know shutting your ps3 off like that is not good for it. If i do that with mine I will get a message saying that the console was not shut down correctly.

Maybe try option 2 and 3 from recovery menu.
