- I am on Rebug 3.55.2 Other OS++ CFW

- I cant see the "Install OtherOS" in System Settings

Whats the deal?

its not like that, go to rebug website and download the files that create the areas on the ps3, it automaticly creates everything for you and there is a pkg that allow you to boot into petitboot to launch linux.

So I install these packages, and the "Install OtherOS" option becomes visible?

All I want to do is put yellowdog on the PS3, got the disc ready just cant get to the install stage.

The option you are referring to is disabled by $ony since FW 3.21, that is why you don't see it

You need to install a CFW that supports OtherOS, like Rebug OtherOS.

Scroll half way down down till you see Rebug 3.55.2 OtherOS++ links. This is a text file where to download it. I hope it doesn't contain links to share sites that have been taken down....

Note: After installing you need to go to recovery menu and do a System Restore. This will format (!!) your drive and create the OtherOS++ partition. All info can be found on Rebug site.
On request from the Rebug team we can't link directly to all information, they need the clicks on their pages

Reached the first Petitboot screen and wireless keyboard doesnt work, cord works fine.

How do I run scripts in petitpoot?

How do I quit Petitboot and go back to PS3?

And when does "hdd_access.sh" come into play?

IF you r in the petitiboot "shell" just type reboot then enter, if not select boot gameOS.

Read my thread it covers all that script command stuff. I needed the same info. and thought others would too... i used red ribbon-linux it's for the ps3....cause yellowdogs a bit more complex on the install and get it to work.

p.s yes wired keyboard is the way to go

Yellowdog was never made for 3.55 OtherOS++ but for < 3.21 official OtherOS. It contains a non compatible kernel and can give all other kind of trouble . Stay away from Yellowdog if you use OtherOS++
