First, you need to check if it's possible to downgrade by going here WWW.ps3devwiki.com and click on sku model.

To downgrade, you need a hardware flasher(e3 flasher, progskeet, or teensy). There are many tutorials here if you do a little searching.

can i go straight 2 CFW 3.55 ? ... i`m lower than 3.55 atm .. ty in advance

I'll update to OFW 3.55 then go into recovery to install the Kmeaw CFW.

i can get s ps3 40 gig whit firmware kmeaw 3.55.
but the lens is broken everything else works just fine.

now i can also get a ps3 whit OFW 3.01 and everything works on it.
but its 25 euro expensiver.

What can i do the best get the one which already has Firmware kmeaw 3.55 and fix the len buy new one or something like that

Or is it better to get the one whit ofw 3.01 and jailbreak it or use CFW.

Get the ofw 3.01 and jailbreak it. Unless you know how to fix the lens on the other ps3, then get it and fix it.

I have a 40GB PS3 currently on 4.0 Firmware what are my options of downgrading i would like to still with a softmod no hardware if need be. The next thing is a also have a Blue Ray Burner on my pC i don't know if that's something that could help out or not. Sorry also the PS3 i have is that FAT Version CECHG01. Thanks appreciate the Help
