As the topic says, the PS4 rumoured specs were unveiled by IGN. It's written in this site exactly as this:

"Sources close to IGN have said rumors of the tech inside Sony’s next console, rumored to be codenamed Orbis, does indeed utilize AMD’s A8-3850 APU and a Radeon HD 7670 GPU.


While IGN notes the chips rumored for PS4 are based on the off-the-shelf parts detailed below, the tech is being “custom tooled for the console” so “exact specs may vary.”

The A8-3850 has a quad-core 2.9GHz processor with an integrated graphics chip while the APU will “work in tandem with the system’s dedicated GPU, the HD 7670″ which is a DirectX 11 card “clocked to 1GHz with up to 1GB of dedicated VRAM.”

The HD 7670 is a version of 2011′s HD 6670 with identical specs and rumored to be the same card used in the next Xbox console.

The A8-3850 is an HD 6550D so the APU would be capable of running games “at baseline specs and lower resolutions without the help of a discrete GPU.” Put together with the HD 7670 and a “symmetrical CrossFire configuration” will be utilized to “share the load of realtime graphics processing.”

Of course, all of this is conjecture at this point and time, as Sony has yet to announce what it plans on including in the next PlayStation console."

The PS4 will not have desktop hardware but a custom made hardware, and I highly doubt it will be a CPU that's worse than the Cell. The CPU will probably be produced by IBM, and the GPU will most likely be based on Sea Islands or Maxwell architecture, and note the "based on" and not to be confused with the same hardware that people have in their computers.

Some of this sounds a bit off. And I don't see how this can be official. Gotta wait for q4 2013 to actually find out. Plus which rumor is this talking about. Last I heard the ps4 was going to use ARM and AMD working on ARM O.o doesn't sound right and also have it an APU. Like I said this is far from official.

I don't see anything wrong in using something other then a CELL. And based on Sea Island...don't think so, and Maxwell doubt it, that's not coming until like 2014. Using a current gen Kepler or latest AMD arch would make more sense I'd say.

Yeah I hear they are:
Taking away ps1, ps2, ps3 backwards compatibility.
Taking away 2nd hand owners (games must be registered on SEN).

This is what I'm guessing will add to the list:
Taking away MP3 playback.
Taking away homemade DVD playback.
Taking away homemade bluray playback.
Taking away in game messaging.
Implement Censoring system.
Some kind of curfew system.

So hide your wives, hide your husbands, hide your kids because Sony is going to rape everyone out there.

Depending on when the PS4 actually comes out nothing is curtain. If it comes out 2014, which I found more likely, Sea Islands or Maxwell will be used. If it comes out this year or 2013, Southern Islands or Kepler, with a possibilty of Sea Islands.

If it comes out late 2013, say around christmas, I doubt it will use hardware based on nearly 2 year old tech. I'm pretty sure it won't use the 7670 and the A8-3850. Definitely not the A8-3850.

They'll probably remove the feature to play games. If it's not removed from the beginning, they sure will remove it in an upcoming update
