I know that my opinion is not valued very much but basically if you knew which part of the .pup, or OFW or CFW is the part the PS3 reads as a new Firmware then all you would have to do is add that to a CFW and you would either have newer CFW or a downgrade. I'm a noob so I don't know

Someone must try to explore this side of downgrading and take conclusions. Until no one explores, we will no nothing about it.

That may be a way of downgrading. I feel happy to have a thread giving results for the ps3 scene. Not concrete results, but a wave of opinions that may contribute to advancements in this field of downgrading.

It may be simple. Perhaps we need some sort of keys or special authorization, I don't know. But perhaps devs have already wondered about that but have never tried to do it.

No my friend, at this moment it is not poossible to do what you are theorizing. However, if your needing your console downgraded and its a dual nand console I can help you with that.

New Hard Drive Down Grade

I am totally new to this and I am not super technical. I really want to get back to 3.15 for the full Other OS feature and was wondering if I bought a New Hard drive if it might solve the problem. It seems since there would be no firmware on the drive it might work unless it stores on the RAM or somewhere else PS3 system?

@Oregonduck12 firm it's not stored on the HDD it's on the NAND so you have to downgrade with hardware flasher.

Unless someone finds a way to access NAND memory with software only, then this is NOT happening.

So is there anyway to just clear/erase the NAND instead of soldering a mod to the board?
