Just some scripts? Do you have *any* idea how much blood sweat and tears people like graf_chokolo, f0f, kakroto et al spent on reversing and testing to get the required information for these "scripts" to build a working FW? You're a lazy-minded, ungrateful PoS if you'd dismiss this tool out of hand like that. MFW Builder is the most ambitious project in the history of the PS3 scene. "just some scripts" unbelievable.

I think his point is they used free, open source community work to do their work, and made money off it. Now, someone is trying to make money off their work and they get butt hurt off people doing exactly what they did, except they did it off free, open work that under the GPL they aren't supposed to make money off... so TB is in essence calling out people who aren't anywhere near as guilty as TB is themselves.

There are so many moral arguments that can be made in this scene. You've got people against anything other than homebrew. You've got people against things that aren't open source. So so many other arguments.

But then, now, you've got True Blue and Paradox. Developers who want to make money via a device which denies profits to the real (game) developers, but then gets angry when people deny them profits personally. They aren't against Sony or Sony's practices. They aren't out for freedom of information, or some hobbyists who take their free time doing work (which takes longer but that's all they can afford to give to the scene). They're a group which has built off the free, hard work of others, doing their own hard work but still profiting off others none the less.

They've got no moral grounds to stand on. They've basically come out and said what they are. They're there to make money off piracy. Try to use their work otherwise, and they'll punish you. True Blue has basically said **** Sony, **** the scene, and **** anyone who isn't us. Give us your money or get the **** out.

They have placed themselves standing alone, where the original Jailbreak people once stood (though in retrospect, they weren't this bad, and never took it to this extent). They have no moral arguments to stand on, and thus their work stands as a tribute to their complete lack of morality - Their reactions in opposing situations are completely different and they thus are utter hypocrites. Their actions, frankly, speak of a seriously unbalanced group at the core. People who either refuse to determine their own morality, or reject having one out of greed. Why would I trust such a group? Such a group could have their devices attempt to phone home, and they could collect that IP list and sell it on the cheap to Sony.

Set that ridiculous hypothetical idea aside and recognize that I made it up on the spot as an example - it would never play out like that. I said it to make the point that they aren't trustworthy and clearly just want to make a buck. So who knows what they'd do, except that they'll do anything and everything they can do that makes them money. Not people I want anything to do with, nor would I give any support to.

The sad eventuality of greed... Let's see what happens. Most likely there will be those who "claim" their drive was killed and their paypal account will suddenly have some funds. If it does turn out to be true well they'll eventually piss alot of folks off and possibly get backlash because of it.

Sad part is for the price of the dongle I got a 360.
