If you renamed the pup, then you did not install it. Its that simple. It updated by other means whether it be from disc or a correctly named pup.

Obviously you had a 3.72FW game in the drive? Which one? Instead of updating from the USB the PS3 looks for and updates from the game. Rookie error that you won't forget.

I seriously don't understand how my post upset you, it wasn't directed at you @Adamsville , it was directed at the fact that tard blames PS3hax for his undesirable PS3 update.

I HIGHLY DOUBT he downloaded a fake Rebug TB V2 pup from this site,
he must of mixed his pup files up or downloaded that fake HEN pup.

I myself checked the pups I've gotten from this site, none are mixed up or mislabled ALL are spot on. I even downloaded Rebug TB V2 from the link and guess what it is? As labled, Rebug TB V2.

What he did was stupid, not noobish, noobs ask questions before AND after they mess things up...not just after.

Anyways I have no beef with you, you should probably lose the bleeding heart.

I had COD MW3 in there (god knows why) and i renamed the pup updat.pup instead of ps3updat.pup and of coarse...that's exactly why it did what it did......F*CK!!! ;( oh well...time to sell a bc phat cech01 w/ a 80gb hdd..womp womp womp...;(...can i still salvage all my content with a sata cable guys or NO also...??????

Told you it wasn't PS3hax, ALWAYS delete pup files that are inside game folders just to make sure that doesn't happen. Nobody ever told me this, I just had a feeling those files would come back to bite me in the arse if they werent removed.

Common sense, sorry I called you names but it pisses me off when people blame their own mistakes on someone else instead of owning up to their ****ups.

*** dude for some reason my dumb ass thought i had to rename the pup to UPDAT.PUP ...that was my bad but im not a retard i just got excited and ahead of myself cuz i was about to activate my new TB i just got and b/c i had MW3 in there for some reason what happened happened exactly b/c of that...wish you would've helped instead of being a jerk you know..were all supposedly here to help each other you know? i'm no nood bro trust me i have like 5 modded consoles all different..just got excited like a little kid on christmas,renamed te pup incorrectly w/ cod mw3 in the tray and here I am...1000 tears later..;(
