Haven't seen anyway of doing it on the computer. Also haven't even tried it. I usually just rip it on the ps3 and ftp it back if need be.

I would assume if you have a Blu-Ray drive on your PC, you could rip the game directly.

Off topic: If that is true would it work for TB discs too? (thus obtaining eboots) or have I missed something?

I don't see why not if it's on a BR Disc. I'm just going off that the BR Drive is also a BR reader so it should at least read it to copy/rip it. I don't know what info would come from the TB disc though.

Sorry to derail this topic:

Interesting! I have a spare old YLOD PS3 knocking about, do you think I could somehow put the bluray drive into my PC and use it for researching this more?

One of my mates has TB discs and a bluray burner I'll message him up before I destroy anything.

EDIT: http://www.ehow.co.uk/how_6397001_us...-computer.html

EDIT2:
The pc will not recognize the files and hence not rip them correctly.
from a source dated 2010

I've never heard or read about using the PS3 BR drive on a PC. I would assume there would be a driver issue.... finding drivers specifically for the PC to talk to the PS3 BR Drive. Ps3devwiki may have something on that, maybe.

If your buddy has a BR burner, I'll just use that directly.

I found this but, I don't know if it works or not let alone legit or not. I just took a look at the link @DEFAULTDNB posted but as he stated it's from 2010. Maybe there's some software out there that will do it correctly but I don't know.
