Piracy has been around for decades, and even back then they complained about devs losing jobs and publishers losing profits, yet the gaming industry has continued to grow and profits increased.
Again the publishers and media like you to think that every downloaded game is a guaranteed sale that they have lost, it isnt. In fact most the the pirating is done by a small number of people. Do you think a pirate just downloads one game, no they could download 100 or more each year! Now how many people do you know who actually buys 100 games a year?! Noone.
In fact pirates actually buy more games than normal consumers, a lot of pirate play download a game, and if they really like it they'll buy a copy. So if they did not pirate the game they would never had bought the game and THEN it would be a sale the publisher have lost.

If you look at all these so-called "studies" on piracy, you will see that 99.9% of them have been backed by the industry in question; and so these studies are bound to be bias. I believe I have only heard of one independent study, and they were the ones who found pirate buy more than normal consumers.

Heres what I think: The reason the TB team is so mad might be that the dongle just might told the answer to how theyre decrypting the eboots then Sony finds out and fixes that, then guess what TB is DONE forever! (Just my thought.)

To be fair: TB did release a lot of new patches AFTER the JBK 2.5 crack, knowing full well that those who didn't buy their product would get to enjoy the patches. Were their other circumstances? probably, but the fact still remains that jbk users are playing TB patched games.

Part of it? No. I think they are opportunists and have climbed into a niche that was created by others, and that is why I say they are not part of it, they just profit from it.

TB and the others biggest point of contention is the DRM issue, but putting that aside they Have given a way to play newer games on the PS3.

There are 2 logical assumptions behind this..

#1 They are people who worked openly and freely but then decided to make a fast buck out of it.

#2 They are independent to the 'Devs' and have figured it out all for themselves, and Yes that does include even if they have used others work as they have figured out how to put it all together.

From these 2 assumptions coupled with the actions and statements of the Tier of Supremacy (I do like that title, and thanks to Evilsperm for classifying himself and others as being on a different tier lol) there is only One conclusion.....


The information on how to run newer games on 3.55 is known by more than TB but is not being made public as it will then injure the pride and supremacy of the ones who have it.

Sony may be a-holes, but they Do own the FW and have the legal right to protect it as they see fit (even if how they see fit is wrong lol)

TB have Zero right to do what they are doing and that includes placing a DRM on it never mind any protection that may damage your equipment.
